   According to an article in ID magazine, March/April 2000, Lego posted its first loss since the companies founding in the 1930s.      If I may jump in here with a thought of my own... All of the new subthemes have too short a shelf life and try to throw too much in a single set ( who among us can afford ALL of the larger sets?) which seems to destroy the idea of LEGO building. I love the concept of making sets with li'l technic-pin connectors so you can buy a few of them and rearrange them into a larger, more varied castle, space base, pirate hideout, etc. etc. I wish they'd get back to this.    Jake, I agree with you completely. As long as the parts are great (and in great colors), I can build my own creations at will. But it does seem that AFOLs are in two camps. One camp that wants to build basically whatever sets come out (they are the (...) (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

   (...) great (...) are in (...) (they are (...) wants (...) yet (...) Then there are people like me, who straddle the fine line between both camps. I love to build official Lego sets, because some of them are superbly designed. I also often get (...) (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)
