Re: 2001 Set info —Karim Nassar
(...) As am I, do not be surprised if the name changes rather suddenly, as FASA has the word "Mech" trademarked, and are very strict about enforcing it. --Karim (24 years ago, 5-Aug-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: 2001 Set info —Matthew Miller
(...) "Mech" isn't a registered trademark in the US. I'm not sure who FASA is -- would they even be in the same trademark class as Lego? (24 years ago, 5-Aug-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: 2001 Set info —Karim Nassar
(...)      (...) Ah. The trademark is actually 'MECH, with a leading apostrophe, which is why I didn't find it in my previous search. (I didn't find anything for BattleMech, though.       (...) BATTLEMECH is trademarked by FASA CORPORATION on March 8th, 1988. It was filed on Oct. 22, 1986. Serial NO: 73-626,352, REG NO: 1,479,757. Great discussion! (24 years ago, 10-Aug-00, to lugnet.general)

Yep. It's one of my faves. :^D I want TMBg to get their butts off the East Coast and come back to Seattle. Last time they were here I saw them at the Showbox, which is a small, over-21 club which allows you to get real close to John and John. Have (...)       But the distinction is that at that concert, they played it as if you were listening to a CD and you hit the Fast Forward (or Forward Scan, rather). It's hard to describe, but I wish I had a recording of it. ~M (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
