Sorry,
but i fear there will be no further pictures available, because I live 70 km
away from Hannover. So I have no older pictures too.
Anyway: I'm a little upset about typical Lego policy. There is no hint to be
found on www.lego.com about this world record. Only some of the small local
newspapers have published some short words on it...
Why don't they couple this with the EXPO 2000, which has started in Hannover?
Or with European soccer championship? Why does Lego give no note into Lugnet or
better into the (fan created) German Lego Forum (with over 4000 web-hits per
day)? As said there is nothing to be found on their homepage too!
I just got informed by a friend who lives near Hannover, otherwise I would have
missed the event completely.
On the other hand, the mayor of Hannover will place the very last brick on top
of the tower on Saturday afternoon. But I had to ask the employes of the
PR-agency to get that information: I fear noone will take notice of that
record under this circumstances.
But I made some funny experience: I came along in my yellow Lego-T-shirt
(look at picture 2 from above) and the people there havn't been sure if I maybe
was an offical Lego guy....
So we got into talk and my friend Torsten and me got the chance to go to the
base of the tower. Normally you have to stay behind a security fence line. We
even got a promotional T-shirt in XXL plus a baseball cap as a gift, without
asking for it. :-) But that was an action by the PR-people not of TLC.
Regards,
Ben
