Two new Technic sets - Mini review —Andrew Cooperman
Over the last few days I was able to find two new 1999 Technic sets. I found 8252 (Beach Buster) at my local Target and I picked up 8246 (Hydro Racer) at the LIC here in Orlando (WDW). The 8252 set is the blue and white police buggy that can be (...) (26 years ago, 27-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: Two new Technic sets - Mini review —Larry Pieniazek
(...) If you mean an element with printing on it, there have been several. White 2x2 round with a black grid on it is used for headlights in several sets, although a specific reference is escaping me, I KNOW I've parted at least two different sets (...)      (...) Yep, you're right. The headlights for 8422 are printed. That reminds me...I think the headlights for 8816 are also screened (this may be the element that you're thinking of). (...) Nope, those are stickers. Andy (26 years ago, 27-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

8230 has all stickers. But, 8880 has two screened headlight parts Selçuk (...) (26 years ago, 27-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: Two new Technic sets - Mini review —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) I assume that the headlight parts on the 8880 are screened because they are 2x4 "top" slopes, and hence has a rugged surface, unsuitable for putting decals on. The same goes for the 8422, or rather, they are screened because the headlights (...) (26 years ago, 28-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: Two new Technic sets - Mini review —Selçuk Göre
(...) I'm with that. All the slope bricks with a logo or other painting on are screened rather than having stckers applied. Selçuk (26 years ago, 29-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: Two new Technic sets - Mini review —Jasper Janssen
(...) Just because I just finished putting together my new 8880, which arrived in the mail today, I feel I need to say: Amen! to that. :) Jasper (26 years ago, 31-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: Two new Technic sets - Mini review —Jasper Janssen
(...) Yeah.... I didn't figure it would be _that_ large. 48 cm hadn't really sunk in yet, I guess :) Now for the 5571 and a flatbed trailer for it to sit on :) Jasper (26 years ago, 3-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Two new Technic sets - Mini review —Selçuk Göre
5571?..How many times do you want me to say "what a set, huh?"?..:-D Selçuk (...) (26 years ago, 3-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Two new Technic sets - Mini review —Jasper Janssen
(...) Well.... Lots. Somehow I can't get all that excited over, say, 2140, because that's the only one of small modern sets that springs to mind, for reasons off-topic to this group ( :-0) ), While things like 8880 and 5571 make me go: Wow! :) (...) (26 years ago, 3-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)
