| | New Throwbots Karl Martinson
|
| | Being in Canada I just got my S@H a few days ago. I was pleasantly surpried to see the new throwbots. I don't own any of the original 8, but for about half a year I planned to buy Amazon, Torch, Jet and Granite. I planned to buy 2 of each, so could (...) (25 years ago, 23-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

| | | | (...) I have to admit that the first time I saw the Throwbots in the store, I thought "How dippy. I'll _never_ get those." Of course, I have all eight of them now, and I'm looking forward to the new ones... I'm starved for information. Thanks for (...) (25 years ago, 23-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

| | | | | (...) That's the same way I felt, but then i liked them, and then I didn't, and now I do! Get it? I'm kinda confused about it all. It's great to see someone showing some concern for the throwbots around here. Sure they got the stupid arm, but that (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

| | | | | (...) <snip> I know what you mean. I find the Throwbots a bit like a fungus. At first they look disgusting, but if you give them a chance they'll grow on you. :) I agree, the Throwbot arm is pretty useless, but I find the Throwbots just infatuating (...) | | | | | The first thing I did with the Throwbots was to buy a zillion 1x1 circular plates ("dots"). If you put a 1x1 dot in the three holes at the bottom of a throwbot foot, they stay on baseplates pretty well. -gyug In lugnet.general, Thomas Foote writes: (...) | | | | | (...) Yeah they do, and they're great for shots when a Throwbot is just standing there doing something. But when I want them to walk and I lift their feet off the baseboard, the dots always stay on the baseboard and never stay on the feet. It's (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

| | | | (...) I can't say I'm *excited* about the new 'bots, but I do like that they are more color-coordinated. The "super throwbot" TLC suggests you can build out of the three new sets is much better-looking than last year's color nightmares. OTOH, the SW (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

| | | | I have him. The huge-feet/big-torso version is rather clunky and hard to pose. The motocycle version is much cooler. In that one, the throwbot looks like a flying monkey from wizard of Oz. Oh, it should be mentioned that the Millennia has a metalic (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)
