  New Throwbots

Being in Canada I just got my S@H a few days ago. I was pleasantly surpried to see the new throwbots. I don't own any of the original 8, but for about half a year I planned to buy Amazon, Torch, Jet and Granite. I planned to buy 2 of each, so could (...) (25 years ago, 23-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

(...) I have to admit that the first time I saw the Throwbots in the store, I thought "How dippy. I'll _never_ get those." Of course, I have all eight of them now, and I'm looking forward to the new ones... I'm starved for information. Thanks for (...) (25 years ago, 23-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

(...) That's the same way I felt, but then i liked them, and then I didn't, and now I do! Get it? I'm kinda confused about it all. It's great to see someone showing some concern for the throwbots around here. Sure they got the stupid arm, but that (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

(...) I can't say I'm *excited* about the new 'bots, but I do like that they are more color-coordinated. The "super throwbot" TLC suggests you can build out of the three new sets is much better-looking than last year's color nightmares. OTOH, the SW (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

(...) Excited? See: (URL) posted about this elsewhere, but what the heck -- he is mostly throwbot parts! -- Richard (25 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

(...) <snip> I know what you mean. I find the Throwbots a bit like a fungus. At first they look disgusting, but if you give them a chance they'll grow on you. :) I agree, the Throwbot arm is pretty useless, but I find the Throwbots just infatuating (...)   Re: New Throwbots

The first thing I did with the Throwbots was to buy a zillion 1x1 circular plates ("dots"). If you put a 1x1 dot in the three holes at the bottom of a throwbot foot, they stay on baseplates pretty well. -gyug In lugnet.general, Thomas Foote writes: (...)   Re: New Throwbots

(...) I saw your Alien. I thought he was pretty cool!! I just saw a different pic of the Millennia. He's got these huge feet, and a big torso. He actually looks acceptable in this configuration. Has anyone out there got him yet? Care to enlighten (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

I have him. The huge-feet/big-torso version is rather clunky and hard to pose. The motocycle version is much cooler. In that one, the throwbot looks like a flying monkey from wizard of Oz. Oh, it should be mentioned that the Millennia has a metalic (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

(...) Where did you manage to lay hands on this one, Paul? -Cheese (25 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

Russell Clark, bless his soul, found one in Blossom Hill and was kind enough to pass it along at cost just before Christmas. -gyug (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

(...) ...I don't mean to sound ignorant, but can you narrow the area down a bit? I'm in Oregon, on the West Coast of the USA. If I'm going to have to dig out my passport for this one, I suppose I'll have to wait. *grin* -Cheese (25 years ago, 25-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

(...) You can just go to your computor, and go to www.mastermindtoys.com it's a canadian store, but you can buy in American dollars. It's $22 Canadian, which comes to about $5 American :( It's not that cheap, but it's pretty close. It's cheaper for (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

I'm in San Jose, California. Sunnyvale, actually. But I have not seen any more of the Throwbots out here. (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

(...) Yeah they do, and they're great for shots when a Throwbot is just standing there doing something. But when I want them to walk and I lift their feet off the baseboard, the dots always stay on the baseboard and never stay on the feet. It's (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New Throwbots

(...) Oh, I wish you hadn't told me about that, Karl. Now I'm going to have to eat Kraft dinner and Nissin noodles for three weeks 'cause I'm flat busted from overbuying LEGO this month. But I'm going to have the Millennia Throwbot!! (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)
