    WooHoo!! —Jeff Stembel
Wow! This day is really turning out to be cool! My Psych Class was interesting, the test I had in Criminal Justice was easy, and I got to leave early! So I then headed down to the Wheaton TRU, and what do I find? Three Lego Reps stocking the (...) (25 years ago, 24-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) Congratulations! Give them a call and tell them we're all looking for second jobs with Lego! Dave! (25 years ago, 24-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) You got an extra set of instructions for 4561? Wow! -- Jonathan Wilson wilsonj@xoommail.com (URL) (25 years ago, 24-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

         Re: WooHoo!! —Jeff Stembel
(...) No, It just comes with nine different booklets/sheets for all the submodels. Stupid, if you ask me. One Large Booklet is more space economic, at least in my instruction sorting system. Jeff (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

After reading this it ocurred to me that the two rail cars in 4561 have stickers on them (T3254 on the passenger car and T3569 on the vehicle car). Since the (...)          Re: WooHoo!! —Shiri Dori
(...) Yeah! I'd buy the passanger train-car and the one that holds sports cars (maybe) but I definitely DON'T need another motor and more curved pieces. (I need Straight pieces! I hate curvey little pieces! I have 64 curves, and 4 straights! :-( ) (...) (25 years ago, 8-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

        Re: WooHoo!! —Steve Demlow
(...) My brother tried to have TRU price-match the 4561 (this being the one week out of the year that I'm not near a TRU, of course). He'd just been across the street at Target and they had a 4561 in stock. The TRU cashier said that she had to (...) (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

        Re: WooHoo!! —Jeff Thompson
(...) That *does* seem reasonable (although it sucks that Target didn't fess to having it in stock) -- no reason for them to match the price if you can't actually go to Target and buy the same set. Still a bummer, though, that they bothered to (...) (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

         Re: WooHoo!! —Alan Demlow
Yeah, this was a case where I thought that the manager of that TRU should probably take some time off work to take a few business courses, because what they did was sure inane business policy (this was in Jackson, Mich. for anybody who cares). This (...) (25 years ago, 8-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

        Re: WooHoo!! —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Well, if he was in the Target, why didn't he buy it there??? Why give TRU the biz anyway? Even discounted they're still making money and I think most people know my opinion of TRU in general. But if you really want to force TRU to match (and (...)         Re: WooHoo!! —Adrian Drake
(...) *grumble grumble* My Target had 8 4561's in stock when I was there. I could, unfortunately, afford to buy only one of them. Curses to debt! Adrian -- (URL) (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

         Re: WooHoo!! —Jonathan Little
(...) Target is sold out, but just out of morbid curiosity . . . how much was 4561 on sale for? I've really wanted one of the train sets, but I can't afford $130 at this point in time. The way everyone is talking, it sounds like they were pretty (...) (25 years ago, 8-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

Source for 4561's CHEAP —Will Middelaer
(...) Forget about Target, get it cheaper on the web! Go to: (URL) down the coupon code for 10% or 15% off at KB-Kids, depending upon what they have that day. Go to (URL) search for lego train.      (...) Even better, go to Toysmart.com, which now carries lego, and take advantage of their 20% sale, coupons, and free shipping for $25+ orders. They have the 4561 Railway Express on sale for $103.98, and if you use the 30% off coupon at (...) (25 years ago, 10-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

        Re: WooHoo!! —Steve Demlow
(...) Because he had $100 in TRU Visa credit to use. TRU doesn't tend to have much that I want so that was a good chance to use the credit. Oh well, TRU will likely put the 4561s on sale too. Steve (25 years ago, 8-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

        Re: WooHoo!! —Ray Sanders
(...) Possible, but having observed some of the old stock I have seen at TRUs, I would not bet on it. TRU seems to have a curious attitude towards clearancing Lego sets. When the corporate machine says 'go ye therefor and clearance', then all the (...) (25 years ago, 8-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

        Re: WooHoo!! —Alan Demlow
The 4559's have been marked down to $100 a couple of weeks before Christmas each of the last two years at TRU (not a clearance, just a sale), so there is at least historical precedent for Steve's hopefulness ;) Alan (...) (25 years ago, 8-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)
