Re: Awww, man! Why do the girls get all the cool stuff! :-D

(...) snip Has anyone checked the Snow Queen set closely ? It looks like a two toned Fir tree in the background - white top with green lower branches. If thats real and not fake, I reckon it will end up in high demand. (21 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.belville, lugnet.general)

  Need help identifying set

I having some trouble identifying a set I purchased in the late 1990s. I'm pretty sure it was a freestyle set, but it came with a strange base, shown here: (URL) base didn’t have any studs, just spaces to place one 16x24 base plate and three 8x16 (...) (21 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.general)

Awww, man! Why do the girls get all the cool stuff! :-D

Man, the color variations on certain parts in these sets just make me lime green with envy! Why do the girls' sets have such cool parts? More importantly, why don't these sets show up on store shelves? I know I'd shell out (no pun intended given the (...) (21 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.belville, lugnet.general)

Re: Transparent Baseplates found in display

(...) Keep your eye on BrickLink, and eBay, they appear there from time to time. Unfortunately you are not the only person who craves some, (raises hand) so they tend to be spendy and (in the case of BL) go fast. (21 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: Transparent Baseplates found in display

I absolutely, positively, have to have one of those. I need something to represent the XY plane in my 3D class, and the regular green/gray baseplates aren't cutting it (the XY plane in my CAD systems is transparent). I end up using a piece of plexi, (...) (21 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.general)

  Transparent Baseplates found in display

I was at the Bellevue LEGO store a few days ago and they had a new type of display up: an area for people to play with various sets that they are selling. I think it's a good idea. Most of the models were partially built. Unfortunately there (...) (21 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Ancient Lego Windows

(...) Note also in Eric's catalog diagram there are 3 other classic tall windows, a 1x3x3 (it looks like a 1x2x2), a 1x6x3 with shutters (the catalog incorrectly shows the shutters as unpainted, in this instance they are red) and also a 1x6x3 3 pane (...)   Ancient Lego Windows

Eric Strand brought this EBAY auction item to my attention. (URL) is an early Lego spare parts pack for Lego windows/doors from 1954-56. And it looks quite interesting. The windows/doors are the variety made from 1949-56 without glass. The (...) (21 years ago, 7-Feb-05, to lugnet.general)

Mottled wall with pointed stainglassed windows

Hi happy builders, when I saw nfranke's cathedral ((URL) was struck by the fact that by a quit simple misdirection you could make the arches appear less round and more pointed. (...) AAA...AAAHHH...HHH! I shouldve mentioned I'm a purist! (pukes) But I guess I wouldn't mind taking it apart to FIX it....   Re: 2 different sliding doors

(...) I have no idea myself, but prototype seems reasonable guessing to me. They may have decided that it required too fiddly of a position to cover the opening and that a wider opening was better...   2 different sliding doors

Hi, I already asked this question in the forum at 1000steine.de but nobody could give an answer, although there a many 12V hardcore fans.   Re: HELP needed with non-functioning 1x2 light brick!

If it's a non-functional bulb, I'd think this would be an ideal opportunity to experiment with it and take it apart, to see if you can fit in a new lightbulb. It shouldn't be that difficult to accomplish. Perhaps you can even redesign it so it takes (...) (21 years ago, 5-Feb-05, to lugnet.parts, lugnet.storage, lugnet.general)
