Re: Samsonite LEGO in 1960s SEARS catalogs

(...) Allan, I can't speak for Eric, but yes he has found a whole new genre of Lego items, namely Samsonite Lego catalog sets, which are not found in any Samsonite catalogs. Eric keeps an eagle eye on EBAY, and surfs the net looking for new stuff. (...) (21 years ago, 5-Dec-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Samsonite LEGO in 1960s SEARS catalogs

(...) Yes, I've looked through your folder several times. Not every item every time, but on each visit I take a look at a few more of the old sets. Growing up in Canada, most of my childhood LEGO sets are marked 'Samsonite'. Luckily for me, my (...) (21 years ago, 5-Dec-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Samsonite LEGO in 1960s SEARS catalogs

(...) Allan, Thanks for the comments. I'm fascinated with Samsonite LEGO and these catalogs help date many of the old sets. Here is 1963: (URL) Take a look around my other brickshelf folders and you'll find some other interesting Samsonite LEGO (...) (21 years ago, 5-Dec-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Green Baseplates going out of style?

(...) I have seen WM dumping those on and off for the past year (never found any less than $3 tho). I think its mostly the computer system deciding that its a very slow moving item and dumping it. Last time I checked, TRU had plenty of these in (...) (21 years ago, 5-Dec-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.market.shopping)

Green Baseplates going out of style?

Tony and I are up here in Texarkana Arkansas, and we've been going around looking at the local retail stores for cheap LEGO. We've noticed that both Wal-Marts up here are liquidating their 32x32 Green Baseplates. The Arkansas side Wal-Mart super (...)   Level 42 mosaic

Hi all, The unglued "studs-up" one-stud-wide mosaic is finished: Level 42 - my favourite band from the eighties. (URL) Read the story on my (URL). Greetings, Maarten (21 years ago, 4-Dec-04, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.general, lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.loc.be, FTX)

Re: Color change: **CEO Draft Letter**

(...) Hello Arne, I have to politely disagree with you. If what I am thinking is correct, you are seeing what appears to be grey parts in the #218 (2x4 bricks), #219 (2x3 bricks), #220 (2x2 bricks), #221 (1x2 bricks), #222 (1x1 bricks) #223 (1x1 (...)   Protocol?

How does one call for a contest 'round these parts? I'm interested in proposing one with a space theme, but I wasn't sure of the proper process. Is there a specific way it's done, or is it an informal if-you-propose-it-th...will-build kind of thing? (...) (21 years ago, 3-Dec-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

  Fun with chrome

In preparation for the up coming NGLTC Festival of Trees project I had the task of coming up with a tree topper for our tree. I needed something that sit high on the tree and be noticed, something with some sparkle. So I got out my box of chrome (...) (21 years ago, 3-Dec-04, to lugnet.general, FTX) !
