(...) Those old 2x8 bricks happen to be Samsonite Lego (USA/Canada) bricks made between 1964-70. For some reason the quality of the Samsonite molds was worse than those of European Lego. Er, um I guess I'm back..... Been gone quite a while, mainly due to a flooded basement that caused some Lego box damage (I was so upset, I didn't even want to think about Lego for over 1 year), been unemployed (with a masters degree in computing!), (...) The good news: In the new Belville sets is the longest brick (outside baseplates) I've seen so far: a 2x24 beam. The bad news: Its with notches at the ends (like (URL) and have PEGS sticking up (like the top of the JackStone pillars), so it's really (...)
