Re: KKK described latest restructuring as "last chance" for Lego in FT article

(...) Cool. (...) Also cool. But, I must've blinked and missed it. I did notice they've brought out a Syd Mead design recently, but it's a rather poor likeness. Nothing like the golden era...(sigh) Hey, I don't recognize this neighbourhood any more. (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) In case no one has mentioned, these are also now available through S@H (the sets, that is, not the strap AFAIK). Maggie C. (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: KKK described latest restructuring as "last chance" for Lego in FT article

(...) The local comic shop actually has a Matchbox display case that they keep stocked with various vehicles. I'm doubtful, but it's entirely possible that they might have some old pieces in there (they don't seem to sell very often). (...) Hey, Hot (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) They are! (I got a set at Burlingon Mall in MA last week, and another red one just last nite at Mall of America in MA) (...) Nope, you aren't. Nik is agonising over whether to buy the set off me outright or wait till his birthday in a month (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: KKK described latest restructuring as "last chance" for Lego in FT article

(...) However, like so many other American and Canadian owned companies the product is MADE IN CHINA. Steven Weiser (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: KKK described latest restructuring as "last chance" for Lego in FT article

(...) Yes, but your 5 y.o. is the son of an AFOL, and we'd expect no less. However, I daresay the average parent shopping is paying more attention to the price than the logo on the box. It's usually the kids who know the difference, if they care. (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: KKK described latest restructuring as "last chance" for Lego in FT article

(...) Indeed they did. Matchbox cars were made by a British company called Lesney. They brought out their Superfast line in response to the upstart Hotwheels. I still have my collection of both lines including many pre-Superfast Matchbox cars with (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

(...) Oops, um, nevermind. I should have checked a picture first. So, I started thinking of legends I'd like to see and 565 Lunar Lander and 371 Sea Plane came to mind, but they have gray jets and a gray propeller respectively. So, again, nevermind. (...)   Re: KKK described latest restructuring as "last chance" for Lego in FT article

(...) No, see...waitaminnit. They are! What the heck? When I was growing up, those were basically the only two brand-name small-scale toy cars, and the only other ones I can remember owning as a kid were Micro Machines (which were a vastly different (...)   Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

(...) Oh, no, wouldn't dream of it. I was just listing a few things as examples for why there weren't any Mindstorms sets listed. I currently own two DUPLO bricks. One is the SW Celebration brick, and the other is the Northbrook Court Grand Opening (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Re: KKK described latest restructuring as "last chance" for Lego in FT article

(...) My 5 y.o. son can pick a clone brick at a glance, so it can't be all that difficult. (...) Aren't both Matchbox and Hotwheels owned by Mattel? Allister (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

Hi Jake, I am a bit concerned at how useful this survey will be for legends. It seems to be more focused on future theme ideas than individual sets for legends. For Castle Legends - Each Week at Classic-Castle.com we have weekly set reviews. I would (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

(...) Not to mention the 10021 USS Constelation that had this piece: (URL) of this: (URL) surely the color change is a *lot* more serious issue and, me too, I don't think the sentence 'rereleasing Legends' makes sense anymore :-( Another disapointed (...)   Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

(...) I guess they'll have to stick to just doing Cool Blacktron (none of that Super-B stuff)! Woohoo!. Well, they're kinda stuck on the Message Intercept Base...and the Invader...and the Battrax (which all use LG pieces), and I can pass on the (...)   Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

(...) Except it has light-grey plates used for walkways on the battlements, light grey helmets, a light-grey visor, light grey armor, light-grey shields, light-grey lances, light-grey battleaxes, and light-grey swords (which I think might also be (...)   Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

(...) What's the point of making LEGENDS sets if the principal issue about color changes isn't addressed? Sorry, Jake, but I truly don't care about anything LEGO produces until the colors are back the way they were before 2004. Terry (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

(...) Seriously, a DUPLO legend? Really? Honestly? Or are you giving me a hard time? :) And designer isn't a legend because... well... it just came out last year and is still on the shelves now. Hardly a candidate to re-release anything under it at (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

(...) This is true. When I ordered the metroliner legend I was dissappointed to find that the girl hair with the pigtails was replaced with the long straight hair. Jeff (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends
