Re: New colors and other info

Jake, As many others have said, thank you for your (relatively) timely post to inform the community of LEGO's decision. I say relatively, because it seems this is something that probably should have been brought up before the color change was (...) (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: New colors and other info

(...) I meant "Have you actually tried to make the new ones (meaning long studless beams) connect end to end?" You'd have to use 2 1/2 wide lift arms, 4 3L axles and eight bushes instead of 2 1xn plates like you do with the old ones. Steve (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

Greg Muri, 32 The corporate marketing speech that Jake posted is a total crock. I will not be purchasing any new sets that contain these colors. Honestly I am still unsure if I will continue Lego as a hobby at all. TLG did such a wonderful job (...) (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

(...) Okay... plenty of words from the adult section of LUGNET, allow me to repeat the expressions of one of my children with whom I have talked about this issue. My son, btw, is 17 now, and has been a *HUGE* LEGO fan for about a decade. It was he (...) (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

(...) Changing the color of light grey Lego components is like removing the cornerstone in a building. Children care little about the exact shade of a color and a lot about the shape and content of parts offered. They are more interested in the (...) (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

the "muddiness" of the “LEGO Brand”

(...) How many "consumers" pointed this out, and how was the data collected? (...) Is that a subjective comment based on a single scan? (...) Do you get paid for saying stuff like that? ;) More and more I associate the “LEGO Brand” with poor (...) (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

I wish they won't do that! I haven't seen the new colors, but I don't care! Like many others, I have thousands of parts in the "old" colors and I wouldn't feel very good about having to change those parts because they don't fit anymore with the new (...)   Re: Petition against permanent color changes

Count me in amongst people COMPLETELY AGAINST this color replacement. This is the WORST move in Lego history, yes even worse then Galidor. Stephane Simard Owner of approx. 65000 Lego parts (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: My Chosen Hobby

Re: New Poll regarding new colors

(...) I have to agree with this. For years, there has been a real demand for the majority of enthusiasts to bring out REAL bulk from Shop@Home. Lego brand retail has taken steps forward in bringing out Pick-a-brick at its stores, but this has only (...) (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: New colors and other info

Allan, don’t forget we are talking about toys here, so even if I appear to be a bit upset I’m not dead serious. I’m still really annoyed, though! LEGO isn’t essential for life, but is an essential hobby of mine and it is in danger of becoming (...) (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: New colors and other info

(...) So black is the only 'dull' colour now? That is just foolish. It's it common sense that you need dull colour to make the bright colour stand out? To me all these new colour mean major sorting headache. (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

To TLG: Please don't permanently change the light and dark grey colors. I *like* the muddiness. Who responded to this anyway in the market research? Parents of children? Kids themselves? They don't buy bulk amounts of the two colors of (...) (22 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)
