Allan,
dont forget we are talking about toys here, so even if I appear to be a bit
upset Im not dead serious. Im still really annoyed, though! LEGO isnt
essential for life, but is an essential hobby of mine and it is in danger of
becoming spoiled.
About my little "scene": I admit it is a bit constructed. You have a point
there. You usually recognize sarcasm when it bites you in the butt, do you? ;)
For me, DAY 1 was the day CLASSIC SPACE came out. Oh, I played with LEGO before
that day already, but my interest in LEGO would have died with approaching the
age of 12 or 13, as it is supposed to, because of the really basic nature of
designs.
Fact is that LEGO has the potential of being so MUCH MORE than a toy.
Fact is I spend a fortune on new parts to expand my building possibilities and
was looking forward to get more new parts in new shapes to further expand
building options.
Fact also is that a newly introduced color isnt a great deal of help for a
builder. I have boxes full of useless parts in various greens, purple, pink,
light and dark blue, caramel, cyan and at least another dozen of colors I cant
even name. Its not the color itself which makes the pieces useless, its their
limited availability and the very limited range of different parts. What am I
supposed to do with 11 different elements in light blue?
The worst thing imaginable is the replacement of a basic color. Why should I go
on buying new sets? For the fun of filling more boxes with useless elements
utilizing new colors? This new move, or shall we rather say mis-step by LEGO
makes me very, very angry. I will not quit buying new stuff because Im
offended, but because I just cant use the new sets.
I realize Jake isnt the one to blame and I apologize if he feels offended, but
he is the front man here and getting paid by LEGO, so he will have to catch all
the flak. Its certainly not directed at him personally, but at him as a
representative of THE FUxxING LEGO GROUP LTD.
