Re: How to critique, was Re: We need a new curator

(...) These are words to live by! One of the first "MOC"s I uploaded to my Brickshelf folder was a "replica" of an early Mark Sandlin Lego Creation :^) which turned out horribly rainbowed! It was like Lego Building 101 for me. My piece assortment (...) (22 years ago, 9-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.general)

Re: How to critique, was Re: We need a new curator

(...) Ha! I like you. I ALWAYS give constructive and dynamic criticism. My critiques range from "Wow dude that mech is totally awesome!" to the complete end of the spectrum with "Holy cow that mech is pretty friggin cool!" So you see I am a critic (...)   How to critique, was Re: We need a new curator

Critiquing is kind of tricky. It takes a certain amount of maturity on both sides of the table. To paraphrase one of my mentors (warning, he wasn't the kindest of souls. I remember the triage of broken souls after his class.); 'Don't tell me what (...) (22 years ago, 9-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.general)

Re: You should all read this (was Re: We need a new curator)

In lugnet.build.mecha, Tony Knaak writes: <snip> (...) I agree. The lack of contructive criticism is a problem. Although I think a part of the problem might be on the builder's part, as well. Some people can't take criticism, and if they get just (...) (22 years ago, 9-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.general)

Discussion Structure Trouble? (was: Re: We need a new curator)

(...) I have to disagree with your point here. I see the organization system here as a blessing for critiques and discussion of work. In a normal forum, say EZBoard, all of the comments just pile onto each other and half the time the reader has to (...) (22 years ago, 9-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.general)

Re: Unoffical LEGO Event Web Calendar

(...) Thanks John! It was great to see RichLug's last meeting on the calendar. Our next meeting is Sunday, March 1st, from 1 to 4 pm, same batplace, same batchannel. I'll mention at the next RichLug meeting that we will contact you when future dates (...) (22 years ago, 9-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Unoffical LEGO Event Web Calendar

Thank you very much, John. This is something we realy needed to have. I have a suggestion: Would it be possible to distinguish the European and American events from eachother, by different colours for instance? With friendly greetings, M. (...) (22 years ago, 8-Feb-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: "Lego tries for girls' block vote"

(...) Hence the "life on Mars" being fitting! It's a male dominated world, or so we are told (I have my doubts about that... I know who really gets things done, but I digress), hence it is "Mars" where all the women are living now, regardless of (...)   Re: Are LEGO going for military models now?

(...) I agree. What makes the chopper look like an attach chopper is the profile of the cockpit, I think. On the other hand, the floats on the side don't make too much sense for an attack chopper. And besides, it doesn't appear to have the weapon (...) (22 years ago, 8-Feb-03, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.general, lugnet.build.military)

Re: "Lego tries for girls' block vote"

(...) My sister and I both grew up with Lego. When she was young she got 3 of those sets with the big people that had minifigs as babies. We both enjoyed the sets, but we quickly discovered how wonderful all the tiles were for building "puzzle (...) (22 years ago, 8-Feb-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.mediawatch)

  A&M Virtual LEGO Museum

Well after several months of tackling this project I finally got it done! My job was to embed the flash files in .html pages but after doing some test of it the pages would be too slow to load for dial-up users. =( The projects was designed to be (...)
