Re: Steve Hassenplug on TechTV!!! (In a LUGnet T-shirt...)

(...) Rob Limbaugh re-encoded it so it's only 36megs now. I may attempt to recapture it, the audio is pretty bad. (23 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.general, lugnet.mediawatch)

  Re: Luke Skywalker: Project LIGHTsaber

One word: WOW! or maybe FANTASTIC! or... What a precision job you've done with the wiring...makes me embarassed of the cumbersome LEDs and exposed wiring in my custom Falcon. Most impressive! :) -Brian (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

Re: What Process are Lego Bricks Manufactured With?

(...) We happened to be touring a factory in Billund on a day when they were making dark gray chains -- in fact, we brought some home, literally hot out of the machine. That said, we have no insights into the mystery of how they get formed except to (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGO compatible bungee cord source?

(...) I have determined that the identical product (or something indistinguishably close) is available in 36 yard spools from JoAnn Fabrics and other retailers (though I have yet to find a store that has 1 or more full spools in stock). I contacted (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: What Process are Lego Bricks Manufactured With?

This is probably of no help... but I shot a few pix of a "retired" 2x3 mold at Legoland CA this past summer... They are a bit blurry, but maybe I'll shoot a few more if I can make it out to BricksWest next month! Here are the links: (URL) that helps (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

  Yay! My New Web-Site!

Yay! Look - Tell me if you dig my New Web Site! New MOCs will be featured here. (URL) will be my primary Web-Site now.   Re: Which 1x4x3 is better for skyscrapers: clear or transparent?

Blue panels are far superior in appearance, but be sure to not use blue bricks for your walls. Here's an example of blue panels in a skyscraper I did a while back.   Re: What Process are Lego Bricks Manufactured With?

(...) I always supposed they would be made using a chain making machine, possibly extruding the plastic at the same time. Still pretty amazing. But then so are sewing machines. A maker of chain making machines, Sisma: (URL) who says Lego doesn't (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: What Process are Lego Bricks Manufactured With?

You think that is bad, I have been practically exploding my brain trying to work out how the heck they injection mold the chains. Each link is a single piece, so all the links must be molded in place. I can't imagine that they mold the entire thing (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

What Process are Lego Bricks Manufactured With?

I was sitting in front of the computer the other day and just staring at a 2x4 lego brick. How the heck do they make these things? They go against everything I've ever learned about injection molding; no draft angle, no radius in the corners, etc (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: MISBI Lego Price Guide available NOW!

(...) Oh, I agree completely. But when it comes to these two terms -- MISB and MIB -- there really shouldn't be too much messing around with what it's "supposed" to mean, and what it would mean in almost any other category of collectable. The key (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)
