  Re: Packaging

I bought a few sets on E-bay, I bought them for the pieces and mini-figs, but I don't expect the plastic piece holders (You can buy the material for it at a very cheap rate), nor the cardboard container either. I just figure it is a waste of time (...) (26 years ago, 16-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: TLG investigation

OK, Richard. I have heard many interesting tidbits on the Unification and the currency situation, from the EU spawning the Antichrist, to the benefits of American business and so on, so it is good to hear information who is in the thick of it, (...) (26 years ago, 16-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Packaging

I've only recently begun saving the bags since TLG has started printing the set pictures on the bags. Usually though, I only expect to get the pieces and instructions with auction winnings. Duane (...) (26 years ago, 15-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Bulk purchases

(...) It wouldn't (and that wasn't the implication). The question was a rhetorical one, in response to Mark Tarrabain's comment "Further, there could be little incentive for a person to purchase from any individuals who were to try this because they (...)   Re: TLG investigation

(...) That's only 1% profit. Who's going to bother spending that kind of money to make so little? Further, I would never suggest that TLG charge club members prices that are below what retailers could get their stuff for. I, for one, would be quite (...)   Re: Packaging

FWIW, I only keep the box itself (the outside shell, with the printing on it). I don't keep any of the plastic bags or plastic trays. And if I buy a used set in an auction that says 'with box', I only assume that they have the outer shell of the (...) (26 years ago, 15-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: TLG investigation

(...) I think the point here is largely mute, since (call me cynical) even if TLG beefs up its offering of parts for club members, it seems to me very unlikely that they would make available each piece currently in production. So it simply wouldn't (...) (26 years ago, 15-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Packaging

(...) Well, unless a set is New-In-Box, I wouldn't expect the holey bags or the catalogs to be there. Maybe I'm an exception, but I doubt it. The plastic inlays of the (very) large boxes, that's a different thing. I'd want those to be there. (...) (...) (26 years ago, 15-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: TLG investigation

(...) And why would having a few thousand of, say, any particular part stop the sale of sets? Anyway, if sets generally have costs /part of $.10-$.20, Why not make the bulk ordering service at $.25/piece, for the medium-hard-to-get pieces, $.50-$1 (...)   Re: Units (Was: Play "I can name that piece...")

(...) Now I'm thoroughly confuzzed. :) I thought Jacob said that an LDU = 1/4 LU, which would have been in reference to the LU which means 1/5 of the inter- stud spacing and 1/6 of a standard brick height. So a Jessiman LDU = 1/40 of the standard (...) (26 years ago, 15-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)
