  Re: New 1999 catalog images.

Jasper Janssen wrote in message <36699c8d.85210180@l...et.com>... (snip) (...) That's LEGO at it's best: when I first saw the brown triangles on the Star Wars bikes, I thought it looked fine but was a typical 'single purpose' piece. But as it turns (...)   Catalog Format question

Maybe I missed information about this -- are pages 9 through 12 (the LEGO Mania 1999) a foldout centerfold spread? It appears that pages 6 through 8 and 13 through 15 are each three-page spreads, which would be consistent with a double-foldout (...) (26 years ago, 7-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: Firing Cannons in new Ninja sets :(

(...) I didn't see any firing cannons in the the catalog scans. Oh, well. Even if they are there, I'll bet it's just an artifact of the pictures being taken in Europe, and Enfield not bothering to redo them to leave out the non-NA elements. It would (...)   Re: 1999 comments

(...) I don't remember seeing the Hoth lookout post before. I assume that either comes with the Snowspeeder, or is not actually available (but LEGO doesn't seem to put not-for-sale decorative stuff in their catalogs any more). (...) Hugely tall (...) (26 years ago, 7-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

  Hmm

I was sitting at my desk, working on a project. I had stopped for a minute, to think through a particular point, and I looked over at my Soccer stadium setup. Someone had taken my Night Lord, astride his black dragon, and set them in the middle of (...) (26 years ago, 7-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: 3 more 1999 catalog pix...

(...) It's the LEGO Direct (AKA, US Shop At Home) pages that says July. The main catalog pages say March 1. Look at page 5. (URL) Steve (26 years ago, 7-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Technic Half-beam

(...) We have way more than just three sets of part-names. Look at some of the set-inventories. (URL). Steve (26 years ago, 7-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

  More 1999 Catalog Thoughts...

Here's what I've been able to glean, and my thoughts... STAR WARS Looks great! Based on the catalog pics, it looks like the X-wing will have movable wings. Same with the snowspeeder - if you look closely at the catalog scan, you can see where it (...) (26 years ago, 7-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Contest Ideas?

(...) Since Matthew's message (lugnet.general:1131) we've decided rather than compete, we'd put on one big show. We Floridians stick together... thats why the fates let the new sets touch down in Orlando (At least, thats my theory ;-)). Oh, and did (...) (26 years ago, 7-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Firing Cannons in new Ninja sets :(

Shucks, there goes my planned business in retailing firing cannons to you guys in the US ;) I guess they've consulted with their lawyers and stuff now.. but be careful - you could have an eye out with one of those :) Richard (26 years ago, 6-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: Should RTL be hosted on this server?

(...) Me too! I would much rather keep RTL as a separate entity from LUGNET. Consider RTL as the first stage for joining the community. Just as we direct people from ATL to RTL, we can direct people who are seriously interested from RTL to Lugnet. (...) (26 years ago, 5-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Contest Ideas?

  Re: Technic 1999
