I’ve been reading some BrikWars battle reports online. The thing I notice is the battle reports are all old. A year or more in most cases. Is anyone playing BrikWars there days? I’m just getting into it. I’ve played 2 small battles, but plan to play more with my “gamimg” buddies.

GenCON, a gaming convention held in the summer in Columbus, Ohio, apparently has 3 or 4 BrikWars sessions running during the weekend. I’m sort of curious who’s running them, as a friend of mine is heading down there to go to the Con and he’s interesting in trying BrikWars out. Anybody want to fess up to being the GM for these sessions?

No, I admit nothing. Deny everything. Demand proof. Rats, I’m in the program. Oh well.

The game breaks out as follows

Real-time playing is limited. Four hours for a session puts limits on the size and complexity of the scenario. Squads are limited to five figs, a hero or champion, one heavy weap, one medic or specialist, two normal troop. Four to six players Tech Lvl 4-5 Limited vehicles, functional, squad size transports. Easily completed objectives within the time frame.

***If we have time and players, we may be able to have a big game on Sunday. Time constraints will be a factor.***

The possibilities of what a large BrikWars session with experienced players could be is limited in a convention environment when including new players. The sessions I have GM’d run better when the game scenario composition is a small area, small squads, and quick objectives.

Basically, as I see it, my duty as GM is to fill players game sesssions with as much fun, action, and play time as possible. I am BrikWars recruiter.

Why do I want to recruit? So I can play in a moonbase module, battlemech, weapon packing, apocalyptic smack-down with my blaster cannon Ancient Egyptian Squad.

Vorallaice, Mystic Ninja Assassin, reporting for duty, my lord. No, my lord, BrikWars is not dead. I have been on vacation to Florida. Yes, yes it was nice, but the lifeguards had problems with my wrappings coming off in the water.
