Re: Getting diagonal track to line up properly?

This has been an absolutely great thread, just packed with helpful ideas and findings (even some good track designs to get people thinking! Anyone want to volunteer to write up a summation and share it with Cary so it might get into the FAQ? Thanks (...) (22 years ago, 14-Nov-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.faq)

  Re: Help!!!!

It's probably because you need to set the followup to a different group. That is a requirement for any of the announce groups. Have you tried that? --Bill. (...) (22 years ago, 11-Nov-02, to lugnet.faq)

  Help!!!!

I don't know where to go for help! I emailed the administrators a week or two ago, with no response. I have been trying to post to lugnet.announce.moc, only to be told I'm not allowed to post in that newsgroup. It seems I can only post in (...) (22 years ago, 10-Nov-02, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: Acronym FAQ Updated

(...) Oh, and if you decide to keep the more obscure ones, maybe you could add TYVM even though it's only been used a few times here. John N. really had me stumped on that one, although you can bet now I'll never forgot what it stands for! :-) TYVM, (...) (22 years ago, 11-Oct-02, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: Acronym FAQ Updated

(...) You might consider adding: RTFM - read the friendly manual (with other words often substituted for the F). wrt - with respect to HTH, (which I usually intend to mean "hope this helps" as opposed to "hope that helps") John Hansen (22 years ago, 10-Oct-02, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: Acronym FAQ Updated

In lugnet.faq, Shiri Dori writes: [Snip] (...) Not really an acronym, but a term that is used in loc.au: Flubber - The bits of advertising material etc. that come in with a set. Martin (22 years ago, 10-Oct-02, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: Acronym FAQ Updated

(...) Ya! Thanks. I agree with Mags, keep them all. Your marking of common and uncommon is distinction enough. Even the unused ones are interesting curiosities. (22 years ago, 10-Oct-02, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: Acronym FAQ Updated

(...) If you don't mind I'd like to speak up in favor of keeping some of the acronyms on your italicized list, in particular CMIIW, KABOB and KFOL. CMIIW isn't *that* uncommon, and if you count in the posts which use the more formal CMIIAW, which I (...) (22 years ago, 10-Oct-02, to lugnet.faq)

  Re: Acronym FAQ Updated

(...) Thanks for the update, Shiri! I've used this several times so it's definitely handy! But please note, RBR is also an acronym for "Royal Briktorian Regiment", which is only used commonly in .loc.au, but is nonetheless an acronym! (URL) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-02, to lugnet.faq)

  Acronym FAQ Updated

Hi guys and gals, Following an email update with some new acronyms (thanks Bruce!), I realized the LEGO acronym FAQ needed a serious update.   Re: How does one make a poll?

(...) Hendo, The fun begins at: (URL) No instructions necessary...it leads you right through, and couldn't be any easier. Peace and Long Life, Tony Alexander (22 years ago, 7-Oct-02, to lugnet.faq)

Re: How does one make a poll?

(...) I've been wondering for a while too, and I don't know why there doesn't appear to be a link anywhere to this. Anyway, I did a search on "Poll New Todd" and found this thread: (URL) doesn't have full instructions, but it gives a link to create (...) (22 years ago, 3-Oct-02, to lugnet.faq)

How does one make a poll?

Well, I stumbled (rather accidentally) into the polls page... (URL) have now completed all polls to date, excepting those for which I simply didn't have an answer (such as those where "I don't know" or "other" were not options on a subject I didn't (...) (...) ... (...) ... Here's a wild and crazy idea. If you think a thread should be added to the FAQ, how about cross-posting it to lugnet.faq? Thanks Cary (22 years ago, 17-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.faq)

Re: How to start on Lego® trains. What to buy? Which system? // For train FAQ

(...) Wow, that looks great. A few corrections/comments (...) The above is from the FAQ, and I don't thing the last line is correct. I don't have my 12v motor handy (still haven't unpacked since the move), but I think the brass contacts on the motor (...) (22 years ago, 1-Sep-02, to lugnet.faq)

Re: How to start on Lego® trains. What to buy? Which system? // For train FAQ

(...) I haven't looked at the trains FAQ in a while because, after all, I know everything already. At least some people say I'm a know it all anyway. :-) But wow...
