  My side of NWBrickCon

A week after the fact, but here is my side of NWBrickCon. First off it was great to see everyone again and those I met for the first time. Eric, Chris, Soren, and others, it was great meeting you, I look forward to seeing you at future Cons. A (...) (21 years ago, 12-Oct-03, to lugnet.events.nwbrickcon, lugnet.castle, lugnet.space)

  Even more NWBC Photos

I've uploaded a bunch of photos I took last weekend. If anyone wants higher resolution copies (up to 2048x1536), let me know. (URL) (already moderated) --Bram (21 years ago, 11-Oct-03, to lugnet.events.nwbrickcon)

Re: The Great American Biomechanical Bricks Northern USA Tour 2003

When a big name like Eric Sophie comes for a visit, you've got to show him a warm welcome. And nothing says welcome more than packing him, your wife, 2 cats, the dog, and yourself into the car for a vet visit. Many thanks for the extra hands, Eric. (...)   Good *does* triumph! (was: My obligatory NWBC post - too much fun for just one weekend)

(...) Hey Chris- it was really great to meet you last weekend, and I had a lot of fun looking through your pics. And since I missed out on shooting the mountain in action, I was really glad to see these two shots: In the first one, it looks like (...)   Re: Our Heroes, Keith Goldman and Chris Maddison

I second what Ashley said. You rock Keith! We just wanted the "wall"-movement to happen up in the Pacific NW. -mark (21 years ago, 10-Oct-03, to lugnet.events.nwbrickcon)

My obligatory NWBC post - too much fun for just one weekend

Hey all, I finally had some alone quiet time to do the picture thing. My images of all of NWBC, as well as a bit of our (Eric Sophie and me) roadtrip, are now online. (URL) I had so much fun out there. It was great to meet new people (Marks 1,2,3, (...)   Re: Classic Wars: The Battle Between Good and Shpleem

(...) RE: PowerPoint size Apologies for not warning earlier... yes - it contains a lot of pictures - almost 100 I believe. RE: Timings. Yes, I uploaded the same presentation used during the convention, which had 2-3 second timings to keep audience (...)   Re: The Great American Biomechanical Bricks Northern USA Tour 2003

(...) Eric's on the road again. He just left my place, headed for Felix Greco's. We went and had dinner with my mom and sister last night, and knocked a few back at my local tavern. Good times with good people. And to Ruth, you've got quite the son. (...) (21 years ago, 10-Oct-03, to lugnet.events.nwbrickcon, FTX)

Re: Classic Wars: The Battle Between Good and Shpleem

(...) Good fun! Like Tim said, the timing is a little off 'cause it changes frames just after all the text visualize on some of them. A word of warning for non-broadband users; The file is ~25.2MB! (zipping it it became 24.8MB). (21 years ago, 10-Oct-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.events.nwbrickcon, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Classic Wars: The Battle Between Good and Shpleem

(...) Well played. Very funny! :-) A small bit of feedback on the slide show - it went a little too fast to read the captions and see all that was going on in the image. Perhaps slow it down a couple seconds? -Tim (21 years ago, 10-Oct-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.events.nwbrickcon, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Classic Wars: The Battle Between Good and Shpleem

For those of you classic theme fans, the Classic Wars continued at Northwest BrickCon with Episode 3: The Battle Between Good and Shpleem. What is the Classic Wars? Why it's a good natured and prankster-style competition between the castle and space (...)   Re: NWBC 2003 Post Mortem

(...) You raise the interesting question of just what is NWBC? NWBC is clearly first and foremost an "expo" event. This is not a bad thing, but participants need to understand that. Now it also happens that NWBC has some "after hours" time where (...) (21 years ago, 10-Oct-03, to lugnet.events.nwbrickcon)

  Re: NWBC 2003 Post Mortem

(...) This was my first time attending NWBC. I've attended BrickWest once also. As an attendee, the one major feedback item I have is "why did I pay the extra $20?" I feel like I should have just brought my MOCs for display and stand around for free (...) (21 years ago, 9-Oct-03, to lugnet.events.nwbrickcon)

  Re: NWBC 2003 Post Mortem

(...) Free shouldn't be underestimated- and the location this year provided a nice surrounding but very little foot traffic. I think we'd be likely to actually get more traffic inside any mall than what we got this year. If we simply can't (...) (21 years ago, 9-Oct-03, to lugnet.events.nwbrickcon, FTX)

  Re: NWBC 2003 Post Mortem

(...) I consider these to be two really large cons against having it in the SeaTac Mall. Seattle Center, while expensive, is centrally located and out of towners will enjoy seeing the Space Needle and some of the local attractions. While the (...) Mark, no apology necessary, the whole problem was that I accused when I should have questioned. Hopfully by now many people know I'm a sarcastic reactionary and not to take me too seriously.
