Not at all. The sq footage is about 2/3 and broken up. Further, the mall is
providing the space because it can't sell it - it's too big for a small store
and too small for a big store. AND - the mall is taking about half the space
right now and converting it to a secure storage area. The space next year -
assuming Dan still has it - will be less than half what it is now.

These spaces are storage areas lined with shelves - no way to make good display
space - no way to allow public access with adequate passage space.

This IS possible, but it'd most likely be different store sites and will break
up an already confused venue.

Not true. The mall has similar hours to the Snoqualmie room and they are earlier
on both ends, about the same amount. No overnight parking allowed. The mall cops
are active and pay attention to what's going on. I severely doubt any late night
activities will be allowed.

See above.

Don't forget to add poor lighting and low ceilings.

Dan is not allowed to sell anything at the mall. It would violate his agreement
for donated space. I'm sure that this would carry over to anyone else trying to
use his space.

This is probably the most correct reason for not planning to use the mall as a
venue. If NWBC puts in a bid, it should do so without regard to whether Dan is
there or not. It should do so with the intent of displaying all things in the
public mall space (thoroghfare) and use any space Dan may have as classroom
space. This would spread out the items to be viewed and require many more people
to monitor and reduce overall interaction of attendees.

About 30 miles south.

This is actually a pro - There are a couple hotels within walking distance of
the mall.
If it is not already apparant, my vote is NO.

| This year we had an outstanding event. I'm happy to report this post mortem message should be substantially shorter than last years due to fewer issues. The space was awesome. One large room that perfectly accomidated what we aimed to accomplish. I (...) (21 years ago, 8-Oct-03, to lugnet.events.nwbrickcon, lugnet.general)
