Re: LEGO photo exhibit / photography seminars

In lugnet.events.brickfest, Todd Lehman writes: <snip many great ideas> Generally, I think this is great! The community could use a good training course in photography, myself included. Being more specific, I think a useful seminar would follow (...) (21 years ago, 25-Apr-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.publish.photography)

Re: LEGO photo exhibit / photography seminars

(...) All of these is something the community needs! Perhaps a freeware image editor could also be demonstrated to help people crop their images to size etc.. As one who can't make it this year, or any next five years due to budget/distance, I would (...) (21 years ago, 25-Apr-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.publish.photography)

Re: LEGO photo exhibit / photography seminars

(...) That is a GREAT idea Todd! I for one would LOVE to see more detailed photos of creations like Henry's harpsichord, etc!!! I found myself wanting to see more and more when visiting his site. It'd be great to see some of your pro shots too! (...) (21 years ago, 25-Apr-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.publish.photography)

Re: LEGO photo exhibit / photography seminars

Todd, I think these are all great ideas. I was actually thinking of suggesting something along the lines of what Eric has suggested in this thread (a photo station). I'd be willing to help work on this, and should have the equipment necessary to (...) (21 years ago, 25-Apr-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.publish.photography)

Would everyone like to see something that large: 1. with four complete sides with minimal access to the interior or 2. with 1 open side (faceing the back of the layout) so all of the (...) (...) No, my idea was going to be much much bigger, similar to the kind of mountain that the train guys would build for their train/town layouts. (...) Must come! Must help space dominate! SPACE UBER ALLES!! Adrian -- (URL) (21 years ago, 25-Apr-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.space)

The plan was to have Spaceman Mountain situated somewhere in the back center of a large c-shaped layout, with the monorail passing (...)   Re: LEGO photo exhibit / photography seminars

I'm interested. In fact, I had an idea to share. I thought it would be cool to have a "MOC Stop" Folks wishing to have their MOCs photographed could stop by. We make a set up with a table, some background paper, lighting and a good Camera on a (...) (21 years ago, 24-Apr-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.publish.photography)

LEGO photo exhibit / photography seminars

I've been thinking a lot over the past couple months whether I should give a talk on LEGO photography. Is there something like this already planned? I could see doing as many as four talks: - A hands-on workshop on studio lighting -- bring your own (...) (21 years ago, 24-Apr-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.publish.photography)

  Re: vendors at BF

We do plan to expand on the Brick Bazaar idea. We certainly do not want it to be a focus but buying, selling and trading are popular aspects of the LEGO hobby and therefore have a place and will get some space at BrickFest. When the registration (...) (21 years ago, 24-Apr-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

(...) I'll third that. Space permitting I will probably bring a Moonbase with a footprint of 10 (and maybe a little more) modules. If there is enough room that we can have all the sci-fi stuff in one place, that would be awesome. -Mike Petrucelli (21 years ago, 24-Apr-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.space)

  vendors at BF

I'm not sure if this has been talked about already, but I was wondering if we could get more vendors to the fest this year.
