I can't say for certain whether it was an official world record - the announcers were saying stuff like "officials will be here to measure it", but we didn't (...) I wanted to announce a contest that will be happening for the participants of NWBrickCon. Our very talented Wayne Hussey of PNLTC and SEALUG has created one of our centerpieces for the event. In an amazing twist of fate, I was contacted by Nickelodeon so they could do a spot for NWBrickCon. The spot will be on "In Play Today," a segment that happens during commercial breaks and in between programs. Look for the spot on Oct 4, at various (...) BricksWest was a long trip for me, I live in upstate NY. I attended because my primary interest was in meeting other AFOLs and see their work first hand. I did not enjoy the fact that most of the people and their MOCs were in seperate locations most (...) (24 years ago, 23-Aug-02, to lugnet.events.nwbrickcon, lugnet.events)

(...) The time expended is certainly a factor, but it's actually more a factor of expectations. When I do a train show, I usually commit a whole weekend to it. (...) I don't think the point is the amount expended, the point is the time allocation. Attending a con is a significant time investment as well as expense.
