  Western LUG Convention

Matthew Gerber (in (URL) suggested calling it "BricksWest" and I think that's a great idea. It should be different enough from "Brickfest(sm)" to avoid offending the owners of that service mark, yet similar enough for it to be clear what it is to (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jul-01, to lugnet.events)

  Re: Brickfest(sm) Service Mark

(...) Kevin, I am asking this in all seriousness. Please take the time to answer here as honestly and as well as you possibly can. What exactally do you, and the several others you mention, believe is happening here in regards to the threads about a (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jul-01, to lugnet.events)

  Brickfest(sm) Service Mark

(...) If you use the word Brickfest as a generic term applying to other conventions, it dillutes it as an identifier of the quality show that we produce. Brickfest(SM) is a service mark belonging to myself and several others who are responsible for (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jul-01, to lugnet.events, lugnet.org.us.lugola)

The Fest out West (was Re: Brickfest, Westfest, Whateverfest)

(...) Exactly. And it really sickens me to see how much of a stink the east-coasters are being about us even using the name as reference. Brickfest has made a name for itself, and it is nobodys wishes to take away from that, our fest is a differrent (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jul-01, to lugnet.events, lugnet.org.us.lugola)

In lugnet.events, Eric Kingsley writes: <much good stuff snipped> (...) Or, "Ambassadors for the brick, with an emphasis on trains".   Re: Brickfest, Westfest, Whateverfest

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on a few points I guess... (...) First I can only speek from experiance and that experiance is with NELUG. I agree some LUGs may not be as focused as others but you could say the same for LTCs I think. (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jul-01, to lugnet.events, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.org)

  IOLTC (was: Brickfest, Westfest, Whateverfest)

(...) I thought it was IOLTC. (...) Wasn't there some talk of a IOLTC event in Minnesota next year? I was hoping to combine this with our biannual Chicago road trip. And yes, that IS a Seattle to Chicago road trip with 5 small children. A monstrous (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jul-01, to lugnet.events, lugnet.trains.org)
