Re: For Kidvention -- What is LUGNET?!?!

(...) Well, the phrase "or Train Club" was actually added as a second thought. It first simply had said, "Find or start a LEGO Users Group in your area," but after learning that LEGO is promoting the idea of "LEGO Train Club" on their Kidvention (...)   Re: For Kidvention -- What is LUGNET?!?!

In lugnet.events, Todd Lehman writes: [snip] (...) Well this won't be very helpful, but it looks great. I think you hit all the important points. Too bad about the flyers, but I hope the signs draw people. Chris (24 years ago, 1-Jul-00, to lugnet.events)

Re: For Kidvention -- What is LUGNET?!?!

(...) Yes, I must second this. One of the best things about Lugnet is, IMO, CW. Now, yes, I'm bias, being a member, but I think it's only fair that something is mentioned on Castle World's behalf... -Chris (24 years ago, 30-Jun-00, to lugnet.events, lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: For Kidvention -- What is LUGNET?!?!

(...) It's very good, I just have one gripe... ...no mention of CW. I know it's not sponsered by LUGNET, but the fact is it was born and raised here, and still exists mostly within LUGNET's walls. And the fact that you mention the train orgs, but (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jun-00, to lugnet.events, lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: For Kidvention -- What is LUGNET?!?!

(...) Here's what the flyer would have looked like -- half a sheet of U.S. Letter Size paper -- 5.5" wide by 8.5" tall: (URL) it would have used a 53 LPI halftone screen, so the grays wouldn't look quite that sharp. Anyway, here's what the color (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jun-00, to lugnet.events)

Re: For Kidvention -- What is LUGNET?!?!

Here's an idea intended to be creative about getting around the rules. What if you stuck clear mailing labels onto various bricks? They could hold a few words, like a web address and some fine print below that. Could even be as collectible as those (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jun-00, to lugnet.events)

Re: For Kidvention -- What is LUGNET?!?!

(...) Lemme see how well the would-have-been flyer prints out on cardstock in color, and maybe I can send a laminated thingie. --Todd (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.events)

Re: PNLTC invites participation in world record attempt

(...) BTW, is there anyone responsible for seeing to it that local press covers the event? --Todd (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.events, lugnet.legoland.california, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sd, lugnet.loc.us.wa.sea)

  Re: ldraw.org Logo Change

(...) Interestingly enough, that is. I added the (r) symbols on LEGO and LEGO logo, and sent it off to the printer to add to the sign. The text will be 3/8" tall baseline to top, centered at the very bottom. -Tim (URL) timcourtne ICQ: 23951114 (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.events, lugnet.cad)

  Re: ldraw.org Logo Change

(...) Wow, is that the exact text sent to you? I'm surprised to see "LEGO Group" there after the name change last year. (...) Wow! :) --Todd (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.events, lugnet.cad)

Re: PNLTC invites participation in world record attempt

(...) Excellent question. Sorry I missed the obvious. If you are sending items to GMLTC they must receive them by July 10th. If you are sending them direct we need them before August 17th. (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.events)

Re: PNLTC invites participation in world record attempt

(...) We'll assume they are something reasonable. However this does bring up a good point. We reserve the right not to run cars with physical compatibility problems. No example: ones that fall apart, are too tall, too long, don't negotiate points, (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.events)

Re: For Kidvention -- What is LUGNET?!?!

  Re: ldraw.org Logo Change

(...) Yep. (...) :) (...) It will eventually make its way to the site. Pretty soon, as we work out some cleaning up of the smaller, thicker wireframe image for that purpose. -Tim (URL) timcourtne ICQ: 23951114 (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.events)

  Re: ldraw.org Logo Change

(...) I was happy to contribute.. I feel guilty that I haven't been more active in the LUGNET world for the last few months... I haven't had the time to author elements or help in discussions guiding the course of our CAD future, so this is the (...)   Re: ldraw.org Logo Change

(...) If TLC is OK with putting LEGO on the studs, I think that is great! :) We're not playing with MegaBloksDraw here. Is this new wireframe logo just for the sign, or will it eventually go on ldraw.org as well? Steve (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.events)

(...) What's the length restriction? There oughta be one, I 'spose. Also, any provisions for containers? ++Lar (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.events)

Re: For Kidvention -- What is LUGNET?!?!

(...) Some bad news ... I found out today from the Kidvention coordinator that we will not be allowed to pass out literature at the park. Its a Legoland California rule against it, so we are left to assume it has to do with litter control more than (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.events)
