  Re: Mickey Mouse

Hey Gary, Very nice! My favorite detail is the feet. Most sculptures like this will put both feet straight forward, or both straight out, or at 90 degrees. Here, though, you have both feet at angles off of the normal 90 degrees imposed by the shape (...) (22 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.disney)

  Re: Mickey Mouse

Looks really great, I really liked your M&M too, you definately have a knack for sculpting. With the back ground of this picture, I am thinking a Coke can should be next, just a suggestion. :) You might want to be careful that the mighty hammer of (...) (22 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.disney)

  Mickey Mouse

This has been a ongoing project for some time. I first started it last year but it was destroyed when I dropped it during a move from one room to another. It was torn down and the parts used for other projects (red M & M guy and some of the Golden (...)   #2 of 3 San Francisco landmarks, Sunol Water Temple

Here is #2 of 3…. For those who aren’t from the bay-area here is a piece you probably haven’t seen. This is the Sunol water temple located in Sunol Ca, a very small town southeast of San Francisco. Famed San Francisco architect Willis Polk, who (...) (22 years ago, 24-Nov-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.disney, lugnet.announce)

Re: Well, this isn't good (especially for the Disney board here)

(...) I've seen Donald Duck on ebay as a kit from bildo. I don't find myself too terribly impressed with the Bildo sets I've seen, mainly because they are pretty expensive. The Tokyo Disneyland/DisneySea sets are cooler because they are small models (...) (22 years ago, 14-Nov-02, to lugnet.disney)

Re: Well, this isn't good (especially for the Disney board here)

(...) I just discovered "bildo" on ebay. Apparently a few others have made Disney construction toys. for example: (URL) Duck? and others including Scrooge. (22 years ago, 14-Nov-02, to lugnet.disney)

  Re: I'm Captain Nemo...(teaser)

(...) My version is about 3 feet long. And it's taken over my work table. As to scale, it's about minifig sacle..I say about because the interior is a little too small for the minifigs. (...) I took a look at that really cool site. Neat info. I have (...) (22 years ago, 7-Nov-02, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.disney)

  Re: I'm Captain Nemo...(teaser)

Hey Joe - I like this a lot! You've captured a very distinctive shape in all of her Victorian glory. The brown look great (and was - as someone else said - a brave choice) I once contemplated building a Nautilus myself, but more true to the (...)   Re: I'm Captain Nemo...(teaser)

(...) Yep it IS a lot of brown:) It wasreally fun trying to figure what parts were available in the color. Thanks for the compliments, too. I really worked on the bow to make it 'feel right. It took a little time and some tries to get the curves (...) (22 years ago, 5-Nov-02, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.disney)

  Re: I'm Captain Nemo...(teaser)

Wow. That is a LOT of brown. The bow is awesome, very textured and sculpted. Love the use of the TIE canopy. -Stefan- (22 years ago, 4-Nov-02, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.disney)

  Re: I'm Captain Nemo...(teaser)

(...) Thanks! (...) I picked brown mainly because it would be easier to photograph and also because it was the closest to rust that I could think of at the time. I wasn't too interested in a gray version, even though the movie version is a (...) (22 years ago, 4-Nov-02, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.disney)

  Re: I'm Captain Nemo...(teaser)

(...) Thanks! (...) Thanks for the compliments! I try very hard to keep to a pure Lego material, but on Chernabog, I had to use a different approach:) Chernabog's wings are made of 4mm plastic sheeting, available at probably a building supply store, (...)   Re: I'm Captain Nemo...(teaser)

(...) I think it's great! You've captured the shape very well. Brown was certainly a very brave colour choice, but it's really paid dividends for you. Cheers Richie Dulin (22 years ago, 4-Nov-02, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.disney)

  Re: I'm Captain Nemo...(teaser)

(...) Thanks! I had to do some serious thinking to get the 'teeth' on the spine done. The vertical fin is held to the hull with 2 hinge plates to allow the angle I wanted, and the horizontal 'teeth' use hinges to match the shape of the ship. As for (...)
