 Dear LEGO / 32
Why lego should not makeso many new colors

Well, this is just my opinion, but others have simillar ones. If lego starts making all these new sets and buckets with lots of gimmicks, they will have to lower quality/quantity of sets and the designs in favor of quantity/gimmicks, as they will (...)   Re: Why lego should not makeso many new colors

Well, I guess I should suggest some improvements, so here goes..... 1) [space] make sets more complex, have more pieces, and be better constructed, make fewer of them, and have them out longer. Bring back sets/themes which have proved themselves (...) (26 years ago, 10-Oct-98, to lugnet.dear-lego)

I guess I'll get into the fray... I think that it wouldn't hurt them to invest some in new molds for more colors. If at all. You don't need new molds for production, just change the color content in the plastic. As far as the sets go, here's an (...) (26 years ago, 10-Oct-98, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Why lego should not makeso many new colors

(...) My 1 1/2 cents... I agree...sort of. It seems to me that a lot of the newer sets, esp. in the themes, are really minimizing on the bricks - any number of reasons that TLG might be doing that, but it does tend to give the models a 'skimpy' (...) (26 years ago, 27-Nov-98, to lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) When I worked in the factory I thought I heard that the molds were more like 10K. I do agree, I do not really like the pastel colors. (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Why lego should not makeso many new colors

I sort of disagree on the topic of too many LEGO colors. When I was a child (in the early 1960's), the LEGO colors available were red, white, blue, yellow and black. Now they have in addition to those colors, grey (mid 60's), dark grey, tan, green, (...) (26 years ago, 16-Mar-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Why lego should not makeso many new colors

(...) I agree. And primary colors can only go so far. Personally, I'm a big fan of the more neutral colors: black, white, grey, dark grey, brown, and tan. I wouldn't mind seeing maroon and navy as well, but I think the Lego color selection is (...) (26 years ago, 16-Mar-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Why lego should not make so many new colors

(...) Agreed with Gary. (...) <snip> (...) <snipped other thought-out comments> IMO, I do agree and I think there needs to be more thought put into which pieces to make which color, including trans colors. I don't mind TONS of trans pieces IF they (...) (26 years ago, 23-Mar-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)
