(...) It makes one wonder... Where are the cow-girls (or would they be milkmaids?)? :) Jeff (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Palm Tree Junior

(...) It's kind of sad, actually... Having palm trees actually used to be a reason TO buy the sets... now it's a reason AGAINST buying them. I used to justify my set buying with the fact that sets had a palm tree in them. That's one reason I've (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Palm Tree Junior

(...) I remember playing with my first tree and thinking how fabulous it was, that wasn't LEGO a great toy because it was inventive and managed to create a tree from the most unlikely looking bits. Then I had fun bending them and shaping them to my (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Palm Tree Junior

(...) The only good thing about that tree is that minifigure hands can hold onto the trunk. You can have monkeys climbing the palm trees! Does that make it worth keeping? I guess that's up to you... ;-) JohnG, GMLTC (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Palm Tree Junior

(...) I bought a second 5976, on clearance, and *threw out* 2 of 3 pieces of the new palm tree. (I kept the 2x2 round plate.) This is the only Lego element I've ever discarded so. I even keep broken pieces around. James (URL) getting paid for this (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: 2000 catalog page 16

(...) Nope, it doesn't come with any other set... (...) Well, it looks like they just threw it in... but I won't object if they make a set of it... (...) I'd love that. Make some Moo-buildings! Better yet - bring back the Dark forest sets! -Shiri (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Palm Tree Junior

(...) Yep, me either. For a while I was planning on buying the big one <set:5986> but after getting the 5976 I decided against it. The palm tree was a major reason why. -Shiri (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Palm Tree Junior

(...) Good plan. We bought one set bearing a mono-palm, <set:5976>, but we never will again! EVER. Steve (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Not LEGO, but trains( $$$ for 2200 foot loop of track)

G'Day The rather ambitious project below would be a fantastic way for LegoDirect to provide support. (...) Me too, a thousand times over! I actually didn't buy the big adventurers set from last year, as the new palm tree would have depressed me too much, but that's just me eh? Here's a third: Dear LEGO, We don't like them either. Dad won't let us play with his old ones so please bring the multipart trees back so we can get some more. - Taya (10) and Nik (7) "Our dad has more LEGO than your dad" (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Palm Tree Junior

(...) Dear LEGO, I'd like to reinforce this. There has been at least one lengthy discussion about this that I'm aware of: (URL) this pieces is not a successful choice.   Palm Tree Junior

Dear LEGO, I personally believe that your 4x4, 3-piece palms take the fun out of building (you can't it two feet tall). And I would suggest that you consider bringing back the old, multi-piece palms. Sincerely, Jamie Bliss age 11 dedicated lego (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)
