Re: an update -- and an apology —Tony Kilaras
John Neal wrote in message <38BB7465.1E99D268@u...st.net>... (...) <1ZeYIJAQspu4Ew$u@yo....co.uk>... (...) Oh my God, you MUST be joking. Anyhow, this is a problem I have had since alt.toys.lego: too much irrational cheerleading and not enough (...) (24 years ago, 4-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology —John Neal
(...) Please state specific examples. (...) Is it irrational to believe Brad is being truthful? "We are very aware of the excitement, interest, and even skepticism which the messages announcing LEGO Direct have created." "We've spent most of the (...)         Re: an update -- and an apology —Todd Lehman
(...) Although I generally agree with the optimism expressed here regarding LEGO Direct and what it could eventually become, I have to say that I disagree with the assertion that "definitely happening" couldn't be less vague. To the contrary, I (...) (24 years ago, 4-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology —John Neal
(...) An event which *will* occur. (...) My point is that, whatever they will be offering, they *will* be offering it. I don't think that they would go to the trouble of saying something will happen only to disappoint later on. They could have just (...) (24 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: an update -- and an apology —Todd Lehman
(...) Oh no, that's not what I meant. I meant _What_ exactly is "definitely happening"? not What exactly is _"definitely happening"_? The answer is: We have no _clear_ idea _what_ will be happening. We have only a _vague_ promise. (Not that there's (...) (24 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: an update -- and an apology —Doyle G. Nelson
I agree with Todd on this also. The representative I spoke with gave me the information that LD IS_PLANNING_TO READY BY HOLLIDAY SEASON (CHRISTMAS ANYONE?) So already I have my doubts about this summer planning, and especially on all items being (...) (24 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: an update -- and an apology —Richard Marchetti
(...) A sad but accurate comment, Todd. Even without taking actual orders, they should be collecting the information for themselves. Frankly, just asking us to repeat here for the Nth time all that has already been stated time and again about what (...) (24 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: an update -- and an apology —Tony Kilaras
(...) rudeness. (...) No, I will not, and not because there aren't numerous examples. You obviously don't want to hear it, so it's best if you educate yourself. Very easy to do with the internet. We all love Lego, but you have to remember it's a (...) (24 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology —Mike Petrucelli
(...) TLC is not a corporation it is a family owned buisnesss. Unfortunatly they run it like a corporation. i.e. they no longer seem to care about quality over cutting corners to save money. Now they wonder why they are losing money. (...) I prefer (...) (24 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology —Jonathan Little
(...) I may be wrong, but I seem to remember reading somewhere, recently, that they experienced a loss in 1998. -Jonathan (24 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology —Shiri Dori
(...) Right, TLC indeed lost money in 1998, but they got on their feet in 1999. (they attributed their renewed success to Mindstorms.) -Shiri (24 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology —Jonathan Little
(...) I'm sorry. Maybe I should have elaborated on my prior post to state that although they realized a loss in 1998, they have since rebounded. I was simply stating that there was a point in recent years (and even though we are in the year 2000, (...) (24 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)
