Prefer 2x2x1 column pieces. Use Technic axles for stability,
if that is why you prefer 2x2x11's.

| (...) oarsmen. (...) Technic axles do allow very stable columns. I can imagine appreciating the 11-tall column elements for their smoothness (rather than having their clean lines interrupted every brick-height) .... but having a bunch of 2x2x1 (...) (24 years ago, 3-Jan-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)
