I have to question calling any of these an "axle joiner". They bear no resemblance in appearance or function to the basic Technic Axle Joiner 6538, which is actually designed to join two axles together rigidly. None of these "axle joiner (...) I just purchased a RIS 2.0 at Target's 2002 Christmas clearance, and it contained the newer 9v motor, PN 43362 (or 43362c01). Perhaps a note should be made of the change and when it occurred in the inventory of this set. Others have also mentioned (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.db.inv)

(...) I must agree with this...I think the 1 x 2/1 x 4 bracket has also appeared in the <set:10030 Imperial Star Destroyer> in dark gray. Hi all, Here in Denmark some small new racer-sets have been available for a couple of weeks (sets 8358, 8359, 8360). There are some useful new parts: In set 8359 a light grey bracket (like part 2436) - not 1x2/1x4 though, but 1x2/2x2. In set 8358 a (...) The door pieces I know of that are cast in transparent with the bottom part painted are the 801/802 pair and the 825/826 pair (the first being slightly wider), but all of these have vertical handles. Thanks all. For now, I guess I will use just 3648 and indicate the appropriate version in the notes column. Hmm...maybe I need to add "learn how to create LDraw parts" to my ever-growing LEGO ToDo List (although I somehow suspect that 3648 might not (...) Checking Technica might help (URL) Also, maybe cross-posting to technic and robotics might have been a good idea ... people there tend to know a great deal about Technic parts - specially when earlier, more fragile ones have (...)
