Re: JJ'S REVIEW: 6095 Royal Joust

(...) I checked that TRU last year, the day after Christmas they were stocking many 1999 sets. Before any other Target, Walmart, Kmart or toystore in town (now you know who took all the good stuff.) Be sure to hit the Target stores early on the 26th (...) (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.reviews)

  New castle! Huge pieces abound!

Well, last night I managed to pick up 6091 (the castle), 6096 (bull's attack), 6094 (Guarded Treasury), 4086 (axe cart), and 6026 (King Leo). Actually, that was every 2000 set that the TRU in Framingham, MA had (they had only 1 more 6091 after I was (...) (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)

Re: New castle! Huge pieces abound!

(...) Nope. The newer pirate ships use this to attach the spars to the masts. I just bought a horde from MA12 so I can convert all my pirate ships to studs up spars (so figs can stand on them). Hm, now if I can find red 1x4 plate w/towball, I could (...) (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)

In lugnet.castle, David Eaton writes: ... although there was a piece I had never seen before-- we've (...) at (...) No. This piece most notably appeared in Pirate ships, among others. You can also find it in some Town sets. (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)

Re: New castle! Huge pieces abound!

(...) <sigh> Oh well. At least it's castle. Demented and sad, but castle.(1) Well, get out that big "sucker!" stamp, and apply it straight to my forehead, because I'm going to go right out and buy them anyway. (as soon as I see them up here in (...) (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)

Re: 600dpi scan of Female Knight, From 2000 Catalog

(...) 40 bucks per woman, and enough free LEGO pieces to build a castle! :) Steve I don't actually remember the price of the 6091 castle, I'm guessing. (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: More 2000 Castle

(...) The freckles and silver-eyes makes for a "possessed Little Orphan Annie" effect. Really weird. (...) If they are going to have minifigs which only appear in the big set, they might as well do several of them! :( :) Steve (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)

Re: 600dpi scan of Female Knight, From 2000 Catalog

(...) or (...) Wow!!! That's so exciting! And she's an actual horse-riding, armor-wearing, code-of-chivalry-swearing knight, too! Extremely cool news. Kevin (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)

Re: 600dpi scan of Female Knight, From 2000 Catalog

(...) Wow! That's probably the cheapest you'll be able to get castle babes nowadays! Seeing as how the Maiden's cart goes for like $80, the Guarded Inn goes for around $150, and King's Mountain Fortress goes for about $100.... so paying $90 for TWO (...) (...) No matter how many times I see it... I still find it amazing that the 'figs can smile as they're being decapitated, captured, tortuered, etc. They just have such a positive attitude! DaveE (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

Re: The War of yellowcastle Storyboard

As I always suspected, the Knights of YellowCastle are bloodthirsty jerks! Thankfully, I have no Yellowcastle b******s in my collection, they might corrupt the other generally happy minifigs. Well done, even better on a T1 connection... O, and stick (...) (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

Re: The War of yellowcastle Storyboard

(...) That is so cool! Wonderful! I've been thinking about doing something like that. You have a snappy sense of plot and story-telling, and seeing the 6075 and 6081 play a role warmed my heart. -- jthompson@esker.com "Float on a river, forever and (...)   Re: The War of yellowcastle Storyboard

Very nice indeed Thomas! I have to say that this, the first major attempt by TLC at the Castle series (1982), was in many ways better than the later grey/black castle sets. Although yellow was not the best color to use for castles, it doesn't (...) (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

Re: JJ'S REVIEW: 6095 Royal Joust

(...) Trans-green, trans-red, trans-blue, and I think trans-yellow. For the sake of clarity I have to mention that these are 1x1 round plates ('dots') and *not* the crystal-shaped Adventurer/Ninja gems. J (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.reviews)

(...) But of course! Ze color shall be... GREEN! At least in 6091! I posted a huge description of it this morning... it's somewhere in lugnet.castle... to lazy to find it... DaveE (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.reviews)
