Re: Misnomer: we are all Lego collectors!

(...) Too late! "Collector" in the toy hobby is already stigmatized. :-) I think there is a difference between someone who collects something and something that is a "collectable" (please no semantic-driven dictionary "proofs"). I might be a (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Future Castle Legends Survey

I would have to agree with you on the 6040,41 pack. I think that would be a great way to package the 2 sets and make it at least worth while. Though each set seperately would be cool too! 1680 or 1877 both basically the same set.. so take which ever (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.dear-lego)

Sorry for quoting so much, it's all context....: (...) I can also agree 100% with what Eric wrote--with the exception that I don't see the "speculation" or selling market as such a sacrophytic organism. There are shades of grey; for everyone (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.castle)

While most of the above may be *true*, it is not the *reason* that this set is being released to S@H and not to retail. The REASON is that S@H is within Brad's (...)   Are we? or are some of us builders? (was: Misnomer: we are all Lego collectors!)

(...) Absract. There are different words we apply to different approaches to LEGO(products). Builders and collectors.   Re: Misnomer: we are all Lego collectors!

I think LEGOs differ greatly from other items that people collect because it is a toy, a tool and an art medium. So, because LEGOs are different, I think the types of "collectors" are different. * There's the traditional LEGO collector who buys and (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.castle)

(...) Great idea - I'll make it one of my choices. 6085 - Black Monarch's Castle - great design - great minifigs. 725 - yeah not a castle set, but I can't build a single MOC without using elements that were available in 725. (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.dear-lego)
