  Re: More custom castle helms

(...) Variety is the spice of life - they all look good. The breathing holes add a little something. I like the Barbute, though I don't recall them having the heavy central ridge. I gotta go get some Sculpy. :-) Bruce (24 years ago, 20-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: More custom castle helms

I found the post about the first batch of custom helms, and discovered that you use Sculpey... Should have searched a bit more first. It's pretty easy to cast things in resin. All you need is a good master (it looks like you have several...) You can (...) (24 years ago, 20-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: More custom castle helms

Funny you should mention this! I just got another batch of RTV-rubber yesterday to finish up an action figure project I've been working on. I would be happy to give it a try if no one else is game, but I would suggest the second or third most (...) (24 years ago, 20-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: More custom castle helms

(...) otherwise I wish TLC actually made these. I have been messing with sculpey in other areas, but maybe it's time to bring into my lego stuff. -- Richard (24 years ago, 20-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: More custom castle helms

More great work, Kyle! I like the fifth one the best of this lot, with a first four being toss-ups. I still am very fond of the flat top helms, however. As far as rtv molding goes, if Bianca is willing, go for it! With our upcoming sticker project, (...) (24 years ago, 20-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: More custom castle helms

(...) As far as mounting the sculpey on a stick, it follows that if you get a wood dowel the same diameter as a minifig's head (and possible carving a stud on the end?), you would be saving yourself some work down the road. Kevin (24 years ago, 20-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: More custom castle helms

(...) I don't know about the silver paint, -- Richard I think they would all look a little more "LEGO-esgue" if they were painted in Dark Grey and/or black instead of metallic silver -- Eric (...) Well, the real trick is getting to match the paint (...) (24 years ago, 21-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Book I of the Hillsfar Chronicles: A Friend Returns

(...) Thanks! (...) Yeah, I plan on doing a Structures page that will go into more detail on the "important" buildings. (...) Thanks again. I wanted to do something with them, and this was the most obvious choice. -Chris (...) (24 years ago, 21-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle.org, lugnet.castle)

Re: Book I of the Hillsfar Chronicles: A Friend Returns

(...) Thanks Wilson. I'm such a perfectionist, I had to have it all just right. (Ask Shiri, we had to do most shots 3 or 4 times before I got one I liked :-) I think all the added little "thingies" add that dimension that one needs. (...) We had the (...)   Re: Book I of the Hillsfar Chronicles: A Friend Returns

(...) thanks! (...) Yeah, point taken. I don't much like the Gungans either, but I have a ton of em and wanted to use them for something, and this made sense. As for the FK shields, I really like em. When I was little I had lion (crusader) shields, (...) (24 years ago, 21-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle.org, lugnet.castle)

Microfig castle and new roof design

Hey all, a couple things to share: A miniature castle I threw together: (URL) a couple pics of a roof design I came up with. (URL) (24 years ago, 21-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build)

(...) (unfortunately, the pictures didn't turn out to be any good.) Mine wasn't quite as steep, and used a somewhat different construction. Both sides were able to fold upwards enabling me to get at the interior. (24 years ago, 21-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build)

Re: Microfig castle and new roof design

(...) really well with the microfig medieval town Shiri did a while back. The tile door adds a lot; perhaps you could fit in a 1x3 arch for that curved look, or even use a 2x4 arch with 2 seperate 1x2 grill tiles for that portcullis look? A. Mark (...) (...) 45-degree pitch you should be able to finish the side edge of the peak with virtually no gap using one 1x2 plate on the underside of the 1-by's on one edge. There'll be a bit that hangs down, but it'll look decorative. Amy (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build)

  Re: More custom castle helms

Have you tried the Tamiya or Gunze Sangyo (sp?) lines of water-based acrylics? They are matched to the FS color scale, and are pretty faithful in their results. I'm not sure where you can get one, but if you can come up with a FS color chip set, you (...) (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Classic Castle Figs

(...) Hello Mike, I've got several extras of the figs from the Tournament as well as the knight's procession, most in very good to excellent condition. I'd be happy to consider a trade. Just email me. Fritz (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Spreadsheet or database?

Does anyone have a spreadsheet or database containing information on all castle sets? I'd like to inventory what I have and get out a "want list" and a "trade list" of my duplicates. Thanks in advance, Andy (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Spreadsheet or database?

(...) castle (...) If you're a Lugnet member, you can use the set databases to do that. It's pretty keen. For example: (URL) my list. What you *won't* see here is that there is a "private" category that only I can see. You could easily use the "want (...) (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.castle)
