As for my names, I'll be frank, or maybe I'll be Pawel just this once, I • know
I'll be Joel sometime next month.  I come up with most of my names by just
stamping my fingers on the keyboard and pulling out letter combonations • that
look or sound good and build on them.  Though I do try not to have too • many
characters with their names starting or ending the same.  But when you • have as
many characters as I do, that gets hard.

One great source for names, is get a baby name book.... they're great...
most have a meaning for the name and origin too.... :  )
Being that Myself and Andrea... my wife... are very into early medieval
stuff, we have aquired alot of great books, just picked up a book "
Arthurian, Myth & Legend - An A-Z of People and Places" Which is the
GREATEST.... it has medieval names of people and places, and a detailed
history and description on who what why and when.... Plus we just picked up
a 5 book series of Witches & Witchcraft, Goddesses, Celt's, Merlin and • Myths
& Magic... or then there's numerous websites....

That Arthurian book sounds good. I think I've seen it before, and now
I might have to add that to my collection of medieval and renaissance
books. I've been meaning to get a baby-name book too, since I'm
always getting strapped for character names. I tend to re-use a lot
of names too..

One little trick I tried is to watch closely when they run the credits at
the end of a TV show, and look at all the last-names. Sometimes you
get some interesting ideas. Sometimes you'll see something that
sounds interesting, and you can make a slight spelling change to
make it more interesting. At least one of my current mage-names
came up that way.
