    Greetings all,
I'm a long-time lurker, but this is my first post.  So please take it
easy on me if this isn't the correct forum to ask these questions :)  My
friend and I are going to be using the BrikWars rule set to run a
fantasy-based LEGO war game.  We're creating a 'keep' with a curtain wall
around it as the main architectural feature.  The object will be for one of
us (probably me) to lay siege to the keep and rescue a "princess in
distress".  I will have roughly 3x as many figs as him, to account for his
advantage of being behind a wall.

I've got a few questions for all of you who have used minifigs in a
tabletop war game.  First, has anyone even attempted this sort of scenario
(i.e., a siege)?  What were your reactions after playing such a scenario?
Second, in a larger scale battle such as this, would you recommend a
squad-based implementation to move the game along, or an individual-based
implementation to provide more accuracy for each individual minifig?  I'm
leaning towards individual-based, but if anyone has any experience with
either way, please comment on pros and cons.  Lastly, what's a siege without
siege engines?!?!  Does anyone have any pictures of their creations?  I'm
thinking of battering rams and large "boarding towers" on wheels.  Any thoughts?

I thank everyone for any input they could provide.  I have a digital
camera, so I'll try to post a link to the battle once it actually happens.

    Thanks and regards,
    T.J. Mitchell

(...) Hey, glad you delurked. Your questions are probably valid in .castle but may get more answers if cross posted to lugnet.fun.gaming as well, that's where most of the BrikWars devotees post about their games and such. (...) That sounds like a good start, definitely. (...) Shaun Sullivan and I attempted something similar (unbalanced forces), although we just had a surprise factor (ie, one side was campd for the night and had to scramble to weapons and vehicles). (...) (...) Well, not to toot my own horn, but I have a few siege engines pictured on my website. Three of the four, admitedly, are directly from sets, but I do have a working Trebuchet on my site if you're interested in looking at it. I guarantee you (...) (24 years ago, 4-Dec-00, to lugnet.castle)
