Hello all,
I am a big fan of LEGO and Castle series.  The sets that LEGO has come out
with based on historical settings has been awesome over the years.  So far
the
Castle line has not explored one very important historical period:  The Roman
Empire.

I agree. As Craig said, many people asked for this before. It'd be a HUGE hit
IMO. There are endless possibilities: Colisseums, The oracle (Delphi), Chariot
races, mythical stuff, a Julius Caeser fig (with wreath and all! :), and,
wow... too much to mention.

Actually, there's a *lot* of important periods and areas that Castle
hasn't visited.

Right! Obviously they can ne'er do them all... but covering the major ones
would be tre` ecxellent... :-)

Ancient Greece - The Trojan War!  Hoplites!  Odysseus' boat! Yet another
excuse to use the 'dragon helms'! (like they need one...but maybe they'd
be in a different color this time?  The color we've seen for C3PO wouldn't
be bad for bronze helmets, and maybe they could do removable armor
again...)

The trojan war would be *such* an excellent subtheme. I mean, what's a better
conveyance of lego versatility as opening walls and hiding places (inside the
horse, duh ;-) ? Not to mention all the ships... An Achiles minifig, with a
cool foot... <grin>

And if you wanted to, you could get in the Greek myths for
years worth of set ideas (although I think 'Leda and the Swan' should be
left out, along with most of Zeus' other exploits...)

LOL!

A Minotaur!  A
hydra! The Nemean lion!

Pegasus! Satyrs! Cyclops!

The Minotaur's labyrinth would be great... not to mention Mount Olympus... and
a Hercules fig! (man, Hercules could take up a fullsubtheme ;-)

Arabian Nights - An answer to the Crusaders! Sultans, Grand Visiers, a
bazaar, a genie cave, the Sultan's palace, camels, a princess, an
oasis...

Alright! This would be soooo cool! Turbans, Kaphiahs... You can make the
women's head covers from the Ninja headwear...

Sindbad's ship would be an excellent idea too!

Wow... The Roc!!! That's a true must!!!

Vikings - OK, there were a couple of viking-type sets, but any excuse to
get more boats is a good one!

Oooh yeah!

China - there is so much history it's hard to know where to start!

The Great Wall should undoubtly be included!!! <grin>

Although, after saying all that, I still dearly love the European Castle
stuff.  I wish they'd bring back the removable armor - I bought so many
copies of Samurai Swordsman because of that.  If a Black Knight-type set
became available again I'd certainly do the same.

I love the Euro style but I'd CERTAINLY go for any of the listed above. I'd
absolutely love any of these. I dig mythology, and having lived near Arabic
settlements I know how excellent their architecture is. Again, any of the
above would be great and would cause me to go bankrupt... :-)
