  Re: Wandering Adventurer

(...) Well, I'd say that, up til now, that's probably the best entrance application yet! Very imaginative, kudos; and Eric looks like an awfully serious little bugger - looks very mischievous. Hey Pawel, this looks like the perfect applicant for (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Centaurs, Satyrs, Minotaur and the like...

At the inaugural DixieLUG meeting, I had a Satyr, using Suzanne's basic design, but with a JarJar torso with yellow arms, and a Fright Knight soldier's head (the same one that Pawel uses for Verneer, IIRC), a 1x1 tile w/ clip, and a cattlehorn. I (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Map Scale, Realms, etc.

(...) That doesn't matter. Combat and Wars are *completely* optional! For Example, Let's say My Necromancer and his army of Undead soldiers decide to attack Dave Eaton's Peaceful Village. I email Dave and ask him if we can have a battle. If Dave's (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: [CW] Pawel and Craig - please clear up this confusion!

(...) of (...) <delurk> I just re-read these from a large, hard bound book with full color illustrations. My mom (through some cool machinations) bought this thing for like $5 and was gracious enough to loan it to me. The cover has a full map of (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Tolkien (was Re: [CW] Pawel and Craig - please clear up this confusion!)

(...) The correct answer is both vague AND huge. ;) I've done some research into making Minas Tirith, and come to the conclusion it will involve a lot of artisitic license. JJR has a grand total of about 150 words of descriptive text for it..<sigh> (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Tolkien (was Re: [CW] Pawel and Craig - please clear up this confusion!)

(...) Very true (vague, huge, with a sense of being quite elaborate while having no description). I'm looking forward to the upcoming live-action LotR movies to see how they tackle the problem. Of course, one could always get the animated movies and (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

(...) This is a good question. I'd like to join (castle was always my first love, going waaay back to the Yellow Castle). (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Map Scale, Realms, etc.

(...) But Castle World is not a game. There's no need for Play Balance. Just like an author doesn't need 'play balance' in his books. We're creating a 'shared world fantasy' here (like the _Wild Cards_ or _Thieves' World_ series), not running a (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Tolkien (was Re: [CW] Pawel and Craig - please clear up this confusion!)

(...) Nonsense. :) I am in the throes of planning out a model of Minas Tirith, at a micro-fig scale, where people are ~1 brick tall. Even at this scale, my best size estimate is that I can't really get it under 5 feet high and about 6 or 7 feet (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

  [CW] Games in Castle World

Having just said that Castle World is not a game, this is going to sound very strange. But the more I think about it, the cooler this idea seems, so I might just wind up doing it. I might well do a ballad or two working with several other people, (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Tolkien (was Re: [CW] Pawel and Craig - please clear up this confusion!)

(...) animated (...) Minas Tirith is, after all, set on a mountain, with 7 (is it 7, it's been a while since my semi-annual Tolkien re-reading) levels, a citadel on the top, walls on all levels, a huge city below, and a variety of other stuff. Huge (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

(...) folk, (...) finding (...) your (...) Ah Ha! At the most basic level, CW is a game. It's "Let's Pretend" which is the simplest game there is. There are rules to follow, but very few of them. This is not AD&D, GURPS, Hero System or any other (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

[CW FAQ] How do I join CW?

Ok ... looks like this is the time to address this question: Q) How do I join CW and what does it take to join? A) You've gotta have a creation of some sort - a picture, a scan, an L-draw file, or something else as such. If you have a signature (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Microfig-scale castle (Was: Check out these mecha)

(...) Actually, there's only one ninja in the entire page. Care to find him (or her)? Barbara and I have been doing this microfig-scale people thing for a while now. I got the idea for a microfig-scale castle from Greg Williams originally. The scale (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle)

Wild Boar, Turkey, walrus and more

Last night I made a couple of animals inspired by Franklin Cain's animal designs. Using his pig, I made a cool wild boar and using the chicken and goose as models I created a turkey. I also made a big black walrus (though is looks a little more like (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

new critters - Satyr and Minotaur

Earlier today, I posted on another thread that I had made a Satyr [1] and a Minotaur, but didn't have any images of them. Well, I decided to hack a quick-and-dirty ".DAT" file for the Pirate Pegleg (which is used by both these models), and then I (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)
