Alan, welcome to the insanity that is lugnet.castle.  I hope you enjoy your
stay, and I would like to say, at least for myself although i'm sure for others
as well, that I'd love to see each new version of your castle and the town that
will eventually go inside it ;o).

Overall I think the castle itself is quite nice.  The design is both
interesting and attractive.  I like how it is several studs wide (appears to be
4 studs wide.. is that correct?), really giving it a massive feel.

Not only does it appear massive, it kinda is. The wall itself if made
primarily from 2x4 Megabloks so it's very solid. I know it's considered
sacrilege by some to use "other" blocks (and the earthworks that the wall
sits on are primarily Tyco & Megabloks), but for me it was a cost issue. For
bulky items like the wall, I simply get much more wall-to-the-buck using
clones. Though the overall quality of the clones is so-so, it's good enough
for the wall, and I get to save the Real Stuff for more detailed creations
like the castle keep, and someday for city houses (a la your "subpar" MOCs -
which I consider better than par). Pictures to follow.... someday ;)

Alan

What does it need? An interior town, of course! filled with shops of all types
and little castle minifigs running about doing their daily business!

Once again, welcome to castle and don't be a stranger ever again!
