Lurking from the shadows I stalk the Kingdom of Castle...
Hi Dan,
How's your story coming? It will be fun to see what you've got in mind!
I dropped in here at Castle and saw your name and you have an interesting
query here I thought I'd add my two cents to.
As far as bad goes, you really don't NEED an army of darkness if you are
strapped for troops or a backstory for them. Take a look at old mythology
and the story of Beowulf. In most cases the baddest of the bad did all
their evil alone. The Minotaur of Greek mythos was more than a match for an
armed group. Grendel could not be harmed by mortal weapons and slew
countless warriors. Heck, most medieval myths contain monsters on a large
scale that terrorized entire kingdoms! More fun than a troop of Tigers is
building a truly horrific beast that can devour your army, but must bend all
it's power against a mighty hero to survive. That is epic!! Armies are
good, but then you have to house them, share war booty and keep 'em fed.
Most Evil Geniouses just don't have time for all that upkeep. Invoke a
beast to do your dirty work says I! Pay a few good guards to watch your
back while conjuring though, it would be wise my friend.
Best wishes Dan-Man!
