Ben...

As I did in the other thread, I have to disagree with the idea of announcing
it at Brickfest.  The voting occured on LEGO.com, so in my mind that is the
most suitable place to announce the winner.  It strikes me that this would
be a much wider audience than just the small crowd at Brickfest.

Could it be announce concurrently, through both means?  Sure.  But to have
the general public do the voting and then allow only a fraction of that
number to get a 'sneak peak' at the answer doesn't seem like 'fair play' to me..

Allan,

you are quite right that it isn't fair to give the participants to get a
sneak peak at the future legends Lego Direct will bring out.  It should be
announced on Lego.com either first or at least at the same time as the
event (Brickfest).

However, look at the last two major "unveilings".  They had the Metroliner/
Club cars being displayed (in poster form) at Brickfest 2001, during the
Lego Direct Q/A session.

This February, during Brickwest, during a similar Q/A session, the town
Legends (Pizza-to-go and Breezeway) made their appearance.

You are right to have your opinions, and these are only my personal opinions
based on past events.

Ben
