I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but whatever happened
to the vote on the next 'Legends' set to be released by Lego?  Did the
yellow castle win?  I follow a few groups on LUGNET closely but I have never
heard anything more about that contenst.  My comp doesn't talk to LEGO.com
too well, either.

Aaron...

I'm quite sure you're not the only one curious to know this answer.  :)

The same question was raised recently in this thread:

http://news.lugnet.com/lego/?n=367

But the question remains unanswered as far as I can see.

I think Lego will probably announce this publicly at Brickfest.  This is
my theory but all the major "unveilings" have happened at Brickfest or
Brickwest.

Ben...

As I did in the other thread, I have to disagree with the idea of announcing
it at Brickfest.  The voting occured on LEGO.com, so in my mind that is the
most suitable place to announce the winner.  It strikes me that this would
be a much wider audience than just the small crowd at Brickfest.

Could it be announce concurrently, through both means?  Sure.  But to have
the general public do the voting and then allow only a fraction of that
number to get a 'sneak peak' at the answer doesn't seem like 'fair play' to me..

Allan B.

(...) They announced the voting here on Lugnet, so I don't see it as a big problem. They've announced plenty of other Lego Direct items at BrickFest and BricksWest, afterall. (...) Why should it be "fair"? Business rarely is, and besides, most of (...) (22 years ago, 1-Jul-02, to lugnet.castle)
