Re: My Display & MOCs -Finally Online!

(...) Thanks! I think it is my favorite of those I've made too. A number of friends have pointed out different things they liked about it. The most unexpected comment, perhaps, was one that thought the most realistic part was the bits of crumbling (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.loc.us.ma)

  Re: King Leo's Palace

It makes perfect sense Magnus, I'm inclined to try the incorporation of Dark grey first, as the curtain wall is made up of 2 wide bricks for the first several layers, then when the "window wall" bricks start, it goes to 1 wide, so the walls are (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle)

(...) this but when you open one jaw the other will open with it) I stoped making it because I didn't have enough pices to finish it (you can oniy have so much built at one time) Right now I made a house with the dragon head coming out of it. (...) (23 years ago, 13-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: ISCC: Let your ideas take flight...

In case people missed this since it was announced to .contests only... This may well be the most ambitious (and richest, broadest, and potentially the funnest) contest ever staged in the LEGO world that wasn't put on by LEGO itself (and it surely (...)   Lord of the Rings - clone bricks by Playmates - pictures

See (URL) for pictures. If Lego is going to continue in its current strategy of securing licensing rights, why they did not secure the rights to use the Lord of the Rings characters is a good question. I'm sure there are reasons. Possible ones (...) (23 years ago, 15-Oct-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

  It's NOT LEGO

and (URL) (which is a great LotR site) has that "LEGO is coming out with Hobbits, Gandalf, and much more Middle-earth! " ugh! -- James Stacey ---...--- www.minifig.co.uk #925 (23 years ago, 15-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: It's NOT LEGO

(...) Well, I just sent them an email about it. I'm not sure if you did as well, but such an ignorant error on their part deserves a bit of email-chastising. Politely, of course. ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 15-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: It's NOT LEGO

(...) Did you look at those sets, and we complain about LEGO juniorization... The characters are even ugly [from a LEGO type perspective], it looks like they are scuplted characters on a 2x4 brick base... It will be interesting to see them and see (...) (23 years ago, 15-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: It's NOT LEGO

(...) Sounds like each character will have small speakers etc in them so that they can talk and have "battle sounds" etc. Perhaps the 2x4 base is for a battery/mechanism that they didn't want to redesign for each fig so that it would always fit... (...) (23 years ago, 15-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle)

  TORN Corrects error

www.theonering.net has corrected their error in calling the LOTR Intelli-blox "Lego" They now refer to them as "Intelli-blox" on their site. ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 15-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: TORN Corrects error

(...) In part, possibly. However, unlike Jar-Jar, a large part of Gollum is being based off of Andy Serkis (sp?). In addition to providing the voice, Andy is getting dressed up in a cybersuit and providing much of the base mechanical motions for (...) (23 years ago, 16-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle)

Minifig Portrates (was Re: I'm a member!)

(...) I don't know of one, though I'm sure one exists. However, if you're interested I can give you some pointers. What I use, first, is a high quality digital camera. However, a simple film camera will work too. Just remember, you need to be close (...) (23 years ago, 16-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

  Re: Minifig Portraits

ive got something to add to this (if you don't mind anthony) if you don't have a good digital camera, i personally use an ol fashioned SLR (single lens reflex) and chemical film. SLR is good because what you see is what you get, and that helps frame (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

  Re: It's NOT LEGO

(...) The stalactite piece looks especially cool to me. I'd like to see some in person to assess the color compatibility with LEGO bricks. (...) Assuming that these sets are derived from the molds formerly used by DSI Toys for Block-Men (and, (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Minifig Portraits

I too have an old (really old) SLR camera. I have a few additional comments. I began, recently, to always use a white background. even it the actual picture background is lego. I bought one of those giant post-it note pads and stuck one sheet to the (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

  Re: Minifig Portraits
