They actually stay on quite well.  However, when attaching the wings, you have
to hold the model steady because with just one wing, it's very unbalanced.  I
wouldn't try to hold the model by one wing, but then again, you wouldn't do
that for most spaceships--too much torque.  I don't know how well the model
would stand on the lower edge of the wings (it's mounted on a short
monorail stand right now)... It'd be really cool if you could attach wings like
that and have them articulated for steering, like a sail on a sailboat...
