| | How to break up multi-dat files? Jack Gregory

| | I apologize for lack of terminology. Here is the question: I downloaded the AT-ST model posted a couple days ago, and want to build it. But it is a "multi" file or whatever they are called, and only has 5 or so parts at the top level. I really want (...) (25 years ago, 16-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

| | | | Hi Jack, I used LDraw to make the model, so I'm not sure what the preview X's are in MLCad. I can help you with your other question though. There are a bunch of programs you can use to collect multi-part models into one file. The one I used is MP (...) (25 years ago, 16-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

| | | | | No need for breaking it up if you use MLCad. On top of the window with used parts is Active Model. Just select the model here. Djelle alias Mogens Sørensen ___...___ E-mail - Home: Djelle@Get2Net.dk ICQ: 38701158 Shaun Daniel Sullivan (...) (25 years ago, 16-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

| | | | | That's IT! THank you so much. That is exactly what I wanted to be able to do. But I wish someone would answer the preview X question. | | | | I'm hardly working on previewing the sub-models. The problem with it is that if you edit a sub-model which is used in another sub-model (e.g. you have two sub-models A and B. A includes B and you are editing B) you are modifying the view of the (...) (25 years ago, 19-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

| | | | I thought the previews were "canned". I wouldn't mind a similar ability to can sub-model images. In other words, put the burden of updating on the user. Not having any way to get a preview image is pretty frustrating, especially if you do a lot of (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

|
| | | | Currently MlCad scannes a .dat file on its first access and cashes its data, these data are used for the preview which is not a problem since the data of a dat file do not change (at least not for MLCad during run-time). But the sub-models you (...) (25 years ago, 23-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

| | | | | I'd be happy with no refresh or a manual refresh on submodel images... it's fast enough to go out and come back in, that doing that would be good enough. Most of the time when I actually care about the images for submodels it's because I built all (...) (25 years ago, 24-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
