You need to either go to www.ldraw.org to get these files or downlad the version 2.0 with these files (it's the one that ends in .dmg). Rather than going through the whole (...) ...Because someone took my part numbers. Well over a year ago (closer to two years ago, if memory serves), I was given the range of x460 through x489 for any LDraw file I wrote whose part number I didn't know. (These are called "temporary part (...) (21 years ago, 22-Feb-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

The challenge would be to write a rendering engine that quickly processes large model files (as opposed to most current renderers which take a while if the part count is (...) (...) Yes, I agree, however you expect larger files to take longer. I would tend towards a low-quality image, as it's targetted at screen viewing, that would speed things up a little.
