  Re: Orange in LDraw

(...) I personally prefer 484 over both 25 & 462, although this may be an optical trick (brain sees a progression, and logically picks the middle color as the correct color). But 462 is defintely too yellowish. John P.S. I FTXed Orion's message. (21 years ago, 6-Aug-03, to lugnet.cad.dev, FTX)

Re: LDraw.org Config File (was: Edge line colors on img.lugnet.com)

(...) Any reason it doesnt have "colour" in the name? It seems to only contain colour definitions, or will this be extended in future for other things (possibly)? Also, in keeping with the Australian flavour of LDraw parts, descriptions, etc, maybe (...) (21 years ago, 14-Aug-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Another solution is to leave things alone, but change the applications palette to suit the user's taste. Color is tricky. (21 years ago, 7-Aug-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

[Parts Tracker] New Feature: MySubmits Page

Orion asked for a page showing all the files he had submitted to the PT. I realized this would be a relatively simple change to the existing myreviews page, so I put a page together.   Re: Vertices not coplanar?

(...) Right, it is typically an error if the four points of a quad do not lie in a plane. Too bad that the LDraw format has a built-in possiblity of creating degenerate quads. POV e.g. uses 2D points to describe a polygon. See also "Method for (...) (21 years ago, 18-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Will the original submitter still have that part show up on thier list? Ok, I opened a new (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

(...) Right off the bat, I'd like to say that I think using a different notation for (A)RGB would be a good thing. Whether it's #RRGGBB or something else, I don't care. Also, should we go to a tagged format? Tags could make it easier to support (...) (21 years ago, 16-Aug-03, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Repository of .dat files with inline POV-Ray code... any interest?

(...) Okay... then I'd like to open this up to a question for the community: Is anyone interested in working on a single shared repository of ldraw-compatible parts with inlined POV-Ray code? How many authors out there are comfortable with both (...) (21 years ago, 29-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

The way the page works is the history text (the reviews & submits appearing at the bottom of the detail) is searched for 'Submitted by: pneaster' and any matching files are returned in the list.   Re: Vertices not coplanar?

(...) When a renderer goes to render a quad in 3D, it will almost always (perhaps always) first split the quad into two triangles. As long as the quad forms a planar surface, this will result in fairly equivalent results no matter which of the two (...) (21 years ago, 18-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)
