This makes a lot of sense to me. I spent a lot of time looking at some more
complex LEGO instructions when I was working on instructions that had sub
models and sub-sub models. I came to the conclusion that LEGO typically
uses a light yellow color for the first sub model or what I have always
referred to as "call outs". The second level tends to be a redish color. I
don't believe I have gone any deeper than that.
To date I have rendered with LD-Lite because it is easy to specify what
background color you want the generated image to include (it is a command
line argument). My solution to date with LPub is to go back and change the
background color (the 0,0 pixel) to my desired color using ImageMagick with
a script.
If LPub could do this automatically it would be a very welcome feature.
