The easiest way would be a list of updates for example a simple text file
containing the package names and date of release. This way an application
can check when it last downloaded an update and incrementally load newer
updates or even download the complete stuff on user request. The first one
would be quicker with modems I guess.

It would be usefull but depends on an eventual bind license. As we didn't
manage to get a useable license for the parts, I guess this would be a hard
one too.
