I don't like making "standards" that only work for products from one
company. But nothing prevents somebody from implementing a protocol as
a DLL for Windows - or as an Open Source library that anybody can use.
But first we should agree on a protocol. Leonardo(?) and I hacked a
simple HTTP based protocol for updating client side copies of the parts
library together at some point. We ought to publish it here, so we can
discuss it a bit, before we decide to claim it is a standard.
